It won't happen; Goodell will do everything he can to prevent it and he'll get at least nine votes. He may talk different publicly but he's covering his ass in case of a future lawsuit.

It would have to be a domed stadium just like the one in Arizona. I have said repeatedly I just don't see this happening. The sports books would have to make too many concessions. If they don't then every state will try to get congress to overturn the law and permit sports betting in their state. Not one league could be a plaintiff against it. How would like this move, you walk into the Bellagio and go to the counter to wager on the Raiders/Patriots on Sunday Night Football. Sorry, sir. That game is off the board. The guy says what the fuck are you talking about. I'm got crushed this afternoon and lost $10 dimes and now I want a chance to win some of my money back. Again sir, I apologize but you can't wager on the game anywhere in Las Vegas.

Disagree with just about all of this. Maybe if this was 1985, then you would be correct. Times are a changing.

The stadium is going to be built. Just a matter of who plays in it. Its going up on Tropicana St west of the MGM Grand.

If you can bet on a college team that plays in the city (UNLV), you will be able to bet the Raiders or any other team that play in the city.

The exception would maybe be at books that are ultimately owned by people that have a stake in the team and/or stadium. Similar to the Sacramento Kings. You could not bet the NBA at the Palms when the owners owned it.

The NFL has very little to benefit from putting a team in Las Vegas. For the majority of prime time games Las Vegas already gets the third best TV ratings only behind the markets of the teams playing. If the Raiders move to Las Vegas, the league would lose millions of customers in Oakland and pick up very few new ones.

I really don't want to see the stadium built. No way Tropicana and Koval could possibly support the traffic an NFL game would bring.

Hopefully it's just posturing to force some other city put up a few hundred million.

Just looked it up: They would have to play at Sam Boyd Stadium for a couple years. No fucking way that happens

Like many times before, Vegas is being used. Only difference this time is the Raiders spent a little more on PR to make it seem more convincing.
