Will there be an influx of immigrants from Africa in the near future?

Just curious, could be a big no. Would the people there see whats going on here and look for opportumity.

I can't imagine why someone living in Africa who had not previously viewed the USA as a possible alternative place to live would suddenly change their mind.

The steps needed to relocate to the USA will be the same in coming months/years as they've always been unless Congress decides to change the parameters for legal immigration.

As for illegally immigrating, again I don't know why someone who had previously not considered that idea would suddenly decide to pursue it now, especially with thousands of miles of ocean separating them from entering the USA.

In BC and Canada as a whole...we're facing a Skilled Labour Shortage...we rely on immigrants to fill those jobs.

• A Bank of Canada survey in which more than 40 per cent of firms reported labour shortages were restricting their ability to meet demands.

• A survey of CEOs by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, which found that 41 per cent felt shortages of skilled workers were an important challenge for their business, with an additional 30 per cent saying the issue was critical and a constraint on their growth.

• Surveys by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business of its members of small- and medium-sized firms that over 300,000 jobs were unfilled for at least four months and that 38 per cent had missed business opportunities because of a shortage of workers.

• A forecast by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council of 348,000 unfilled jobs by 2025.
