Anyone have a lean on what Manning will do? Some think he retires if he wins the SB.

Manning after practice on Wednesday said the following:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It’s going to be a great atmosphere on Sunday, playing a good football team,
and there is nothing else I would rather be doing than be in that opportunity,”
Manning said of the divisional clash with the Chargers this weekend. “That is
certainly my goal to enjoy the preparation — not just the game — to actually
enjoy the preparation part of it, enjoy being around the guys.

“Because certainly, the light is at the end of the tunnel for me — no
question. And so, I think you enjoy these things maybe even more than maybe you
have in the past.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds like someone who thinks this could be his last kick at the can.
This could also just be Manning's subtle way of reminding his teammates to not take things for granted.

We could also witness the retirement of Champ Bailey after this season as well.

Nobody in Denver wants to talk about Manning retiring, I think he's got 1 more year left on his contract which is an option for $20 million. He still seems to enjoy playing football, but at his age who knows. If the Broncos were to win the SB this year I could see him retiring, if not my guess is he would be back for 1 more try. Regarding Champ Bailey, I do not get the impression that he wants to retire although I cannot see him back in Denver next year unless he takes a pay cut as I think he makes close to $10 million a year. For the last couple years there was talk about moving Champ to safety, but he always seemed to resist that notion. At the end of this season his attitude seems to have changed after being moved to the nickel corner accepting that his days as a shutdown corner are over. So I could seem him taking a similar path as Charles Woodson, extending his career by playing the slot corner or maybe even safety, albeit at a reduced price.

I figured with Welker still signed through 2014 that it's a sign Manning will be back one more year as long as he's healthy.

That's a good point with Welker having 1 more year on his contract, although I believe Decker becomes a free agent.

When people read into things like this it's with their personal definitions and interpretations of words, sentences and context. To Joe Blow, saying what Peyton said is his way of indicating he's done after one season. To Peyton Manning it may be his way of A) motivating his guys by hinting he's done after this year B) saying he's close, within 1-3 years of being done C) doesn't know what the future holds but knows at 37 anything could happen. Who knows. I seriously doubt he smashes major QB records and just walks away. He's got 2-3, maybe 4 years left.

And if Champ retires, build his HoF bust and set the countdown to Canton. Best corner of all time, bar none.

he is not going to retire after this year, he has been healthy this year except for an ankle sprain, Denver still has a 2-3 year window if he stays healthy. #18 will be back

He is still the best in the game. Why would he retire? Maybe if he drops out of the top 10 he may think about it.

Champ Bailey isn't the best corner to ever play for the Redskins, let alone of all time.

He definitely has at least 1-2 years left in him but if he wins the SB this year I could see him retiring to leave on a high note.

Um, pointing out that Green was better is not a "blind naysayer"

Added to the fact that Green, Woodson, and Deion were all better than Champ, makes you comically wrong.

^Not a Denver fan. Not even a fan of an AFC team. My team sucks. Just being real little fella.

If Champ played before the internet he'd be regarded as a god. And for a popular team. Instead he got big when everyone on the internet wanted to call everyone overrated ad it stuck and suddenly schmucks like you guys don't realize how great he is. Best tackling corner ever, best cover man ever, has the longevity and did it without a pass rush for almost his entire career. Wake the fuck up.

Laugh out loud funny.

I was on the Internet before Champ Bailey played an NFL down.

Best tackling corner ever

@)

Who says something so stupid?

Woodson, Night Train Lane, and Lester Hayes were all better tacklers than Champ Bailey.

Carry on with your stupidity now.
