Will this be the turnaround? Bill has won everywhere, how long will it take, still no quarterback....Defense is in place , how long before Dallas is back in the big games?

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

No way.
They had a nice draft, but Dallas is still horrible.

Not this year.

Houston may finish with a better record than Dallas this year.

I don't know, but considering I've been a Dallas fan since I was a kid back in Dallas in the early 60's, and that I find it anathema that the big fat tuna now is in charge since obviously he coached the hated Giants (I don't like NY teams except for Buffalo), it's going to be an odd season. I don't like Parcells, I wish he'd go coach a Pop Warner team if he wants to stay active in his retirement. Not saying he isn't a good coach, I'm saying I don't care, send the mercenary bastard packing.

They'll be pretty bad this year. They have a bottom of the NFL Offense, and their Defense, while not bad, is not a Parcells defense. They are small in the front 7, so I don't expect their D to be as good as it was under Campo. As Tuna gets in more of his type player in the next few years, IF he and Jones can co-exist, they'll improve, but this year I expect a step back.

5-6 wins, tops. Big Tuna is laying the foundation for 2-3 years down the line. Right now, they don't have a proven QB and the OL and running game are question marks. The defence still needs a pass rush (who doesn't? LOL) but the secondary is looking good. Give them another year or two - finally, JJ brings in a real coach. No more I-don't-have-a-play-for fourth-and-one Coslet on offence.

There are very few things you can count on in the NFL. BILL PARCELLS IS ONE OF THEM. No matter how bad his players are, they will be focused and play at a higher level than normal. You just can't ignore that.

He has some D. Limited O.

Take him when he gets 5 points or more *every time*.

Play the unders out of the gate.

Parcells will use his "Giants" system over his "Patriot/Jets" system.

Defense will be pretty good, especially the secondary with Roy Williams, and now the addition of Terrence Newman at cornerback........But, offense will stink it up!!

Boy's, the Boy's need a QB, period. They can't win more than 6 games with the two clowns they have. And if Jerry starts trying to meddle look for Parcells to bail out after one season citing 'medical reasons' to get his settlement.

Parcells lost his money in a divorce, Jeff Hostetler made Parcells.

Bird, everyone knows it was Bellichek that made Parcells. Seriously, every once in a while you come up with a gem, and you're right on about this. I've been wondering for months why Parcells would even think about coming back with a guy who he would have spit on when he was the Parcells of old. I raised the $$$ issue and was laughed at, as people said Parcells wasn't about $$$ and didn't need money. But you're right, he recently got divorced, and he probably DOES need the $$$. It explains alot, because I've questioned his motivation for coming back, especially with this clown. Hope he has a Schottenheimer/Snyder-like iron clad contract and gets his $$$ when they have their inevitable "clash". Just another reason to think Dallas will absolutely blow this year.

Disagree. He may be coming back for money but, the man has an ego and pride. I'd bet he's going to be real hard on his players making sure Jones has no reason to get in his face while making sure not to embarass himself during his Swan Song.

Hostettler had a run like no other after Sims got hurt. That being said, Bill Parcells coached himself to a SBIIX victory.

You have to respect consistantcy betting the NFL. Parcells has produced consistantly successful competition with all his teams vs. all his foes.

Lou, I love Parcells. This generation's best Coach. But, 1st off, his fist year history isn't too great. Secondly, taking this job tells me we may not be seeing the same old Parcells. He left NE because of a meddlesome owner who wouldn't let Tuna "shop for the Groceries". He left the Jets because of the potential of a New, unknown, perhaps meddlesome owner. And now he willingly signs with the king of meddlesome owners? I think, given the time and latitude, Parcells will do his thing, but I doubt it'll be this year. We'll see, and just agree to disagre for now.

bottom line is parcells makes his guys play. may not be the most technical coach, but he will make them play to their abilities and then some. kind of like switzer in the magical days. he will establish leadership early and play some "green horns" that want to play for him. screw the rest. you play or you go. jerry jones is the only thing standing in his way. not the qb situation. or the rb situation. anybody in the nfl is a "pro". he will make them play that way. look for a rough year for the cowboys. watch out next year when he has his boys in place. just my opinion.
