For the last several years it's been better to fade Favre at the tail end of a season instead of at the beginning. He's had the tendency to look like his old self early on, then turn into the interception machine as the season progresses.
I'm not sure the lack of training camp will put any extra rust on him. The guy's been going to camps since the first Bush administration. I doubt two weeks of practice makes much of a difference to a guy like that.

one part of my brain says that favre will play hard and take advantage of the defense, especially if he does play the entire first half....last thing he wants is to pull an orton outta his ass....

I don't like it. Vikings are the better team overall. Plus there is no guarantee Favre will be in there the entire half. Things change quickly in the NFL. Plus, it's Monday night. Even though it's pre-season, Fave always plays well on Monday night.
