Jimmy Sheckard is a bit before my time.

Unfortunately I don't know much about those turn of the centruy oldtimers. All I really know about Jimmy Sheckard was he was killed at the age of 68 when he was hit by a car as he was walking along a highway in Pennsylvania.

Trivia: Jimmy Sheckard holds two defensive records that have stood around 100 years.

His 12 double plays as a leftfielder in 1911 for the Cubs is 2 more than any other left fielder in history. And in 1899, while playing for the Baltimore Orioles, Sheckard played right field and set the record for double plays by a right fielder with 14.
