Fish is a very compasionate, intelligent, street smart and easy going person who is also very easy to like. He loves to have fun but knows when it is time for business it is time to take care of that business. He treats women with courtesy and kindness, he is never hesitant to give advice if asked for it but knows when to mind his own business also.

His knowledge of sportsbetting in all it's forms is as good as anyone you will ever meet. He can play poker, shoot pool, throw darts, play backgammon etc. and do it all for big dough without showing any nerves. That said he is the farthest thing from a reckless gambler as you will ever find. Fish hardly ever gets the worst of it when gambling.

As much as I like Fish, if I had a sheet I wouldn't want him on it, there are a million softer spots than the Fish to write action off.

He just can't help the way he looks.

I think you left out the Coupon thing.

That comes under the taking care of business part. Personally I have never been one to use coupons, or free milage, use slot play cards, look for discount hotel or air fare over the course of my life and now looking back the only reason I didn't was pure laziness. There is nothing wrong with saving money on a hotel room, renting a car or booking airfare etc.

Fish is smart taking advantage of casino giveaways like a lot of other Vegas residents I know. I don't know how much money I have blown on tokes in my life but would certainly like to have it all right now. I am not saying not to tip (toke) but I always have over done it, comes from being a bartender for 20 years in my youth.

Had a friend that was like that too.

Once went to dinner with him and when it was time to pay the Bill, I said I would pick up the Tap..You leave the Tip.

He didn't even want to leave 20% I said you have to leave a min. of 20% and that I leave 25% or more. He told me I was crazy !!

I've only heard about Fisheads coupon deals, don't know what his Tipping rules are ?

But I guess in this time that we are going through in the world today, saving a few bucks here and there will save you money.

I guess I fall under the laziness like you Wil.

I actualy mixed two different topics in that post. Saving money by taking advantage of deals, coupons, credit card airline and rent a car milage etc. is a little work but as rule over the course of a lifetime probably worth it. Just paying sticker price on everything is just being lazy IMO. Call me lazy.

Tipping in restaurants and bars is up to the individual but I cannot stand to go out to dinner or just drinks (in the old days) unless the waiter/waitress/bartender was really brutal not leave a healthy over tip on the table. I have snuck back to tables where other guys undertipped and added a $10 or $20 to the bill many a time.

I tipped just about everyone in my Vegas days, especially valets and golf course tee off starters. My car was always right in front of a joint when I came out and I could always get a tee time back in the 80s in Las Vegas.

Then I got sober in 1990 and all that stuff was over with.

He once loved softball so much he spent the night in the dugout. Or maybe it was because he was so drunk and had struck out in the bar as well.

True, in fact if I was going to gamble with Fish I would make it golf if he was game. Front, back, overall and automatic two down presses, plus greenies and sandies. In my day (long gone now as I approach 61 in a few weeks) I could probably give him 2 aside no sweat.

Fish said you are a real athelete, especially hoops..

Tipping, to me, is usually not a reward for current service per se

Rather, it is an investment in future service.

If with someone I'll see again, it very rarely fails.

And if someone I won't see again, it's spiritually sound to "Pay It Forward".

Let's face it, if I were to be out for the night and misplace $10, would I lose sleep?

Of course not. So why should I hesitate to drop an extra $10 on my primary service person for the evening?

Dug into my photobucket file to try and snag the pic of FISHHEAD in the upper deck of the Ice Palace making his own shortcut by falling straight down two rows of seats rather than take the steps like most of the rest of us.

But it seems that pic is actually property of fellow TBay-er 5TEAMPARLAY

I got a buddy that is the same way. When we were in college we'd go to lunch and when it was time to pay the tab i'd pull out two dollars for tip and leave it on my side of the table and he'd pull out one, grab my two and put all three together in the middle of the table.

Like we together left 3. Never really botherd me at first but after awhile I could just see he was always angling to get the best of everthing.

We go on a golf trip once a year and somebody will always pick up the tab when we go eat. He'll make sure, and I mean he'll dive through a fucking flaming window to get the check at say "subway" on the way down when nobody is drinking.

Just little shit like that drives me crazy. I wish it did not bother me but I can't help it. Its gotten to the point where i don't really want to hang out with him and he really (all that cheapskate shit aside) is a good friend.

And on a side note he's not hurting for money. He's not wealthy, but very comfortable.

LOL...........

Whalewager--gotta hand it to you, funny thread title..........:103631605:103631605

Wilheim-Thanks for the kind words, I can certainly tell you that the pleasure has been all mine meeting you through this forum and becoming friends with you.

Now to set a few things straight(for the 1000th time in some cases) that you stated here and what others believe to be true of me(though they have never met me in person).

Backgammon-Never played the game.
Darts- Worse at darts than golf, which translates into being terrible.

Now to set the record straingt on coupons........geezus, I clip coupons out of the Sunday paper and that's about it for non-gambling coupons(other then purchasing the entertainment book yearly).

When I lived in Vegas and basically lived on the streets like I did literally 14-18 hours a day for numerous years, one knows or finds out about every decent COUPON, DISCOUNT, +EV PLAYS, ETC., ETC practically in the entire city in the world of sportsbetting, blackjack, video poker, slots and dining......................, especially if you hung out with as many supreme wiseguys as I did.........so yes, I took advantage of tons of them.......no reason not to really.

Cy was half right, although I don't have to bad of a banana slice(if at all), for the most part I suck at golf(a tad better then a bogey golfer at best) and although I usually have a fairly decent shot at winning my golf wagers on the course, I lose a high percentage of them because I'm a choker.............and this is the reason I only wager peanuts on the course.

Tipping--Broad subject, but Viking probably said it bluntly and accurately when he stated I'm a 20%ish tipper, give or take a few percentages based on service.

One thing is that I should never be mentioned as being "great" in or at anything.

Modestly speaking, the one thing I can say is that when I moved from Vegas in 2002, you would be hard pressed to find anyone that knew Vegas better inside and out as me(I always try to relay this to posters here)...........unfortunately, having been out of there for 7 years now, that as gone by the wayside. In 2002, I had been in 98% of the bars and restaurants in the ENTIRE LV valley, and of course, all the casinos many times over.

In closing, there are hundreds and hundreds at this forum that have contributed more to society then me, and they deserve much more attention then me.

As Wil stated, I always try to answer any questions anyone poses to me to the best of my knowledge,........honestly and without hiding anything.
