Why not? They were close last year. They are now a year older and wiser. They look as good as anyone so I'll take the experienced upper classmen who have not lost this year at 14:1.

I have em on a Future too but they got absolutely hosed on their bracket. The true odds to win for them should be >80:1

#1 preseason team in Kentucky if they both advance, then you have who the stat gurus claim should be a #1 in Louisville in the next round. and so on.

Very true....I hope they do some damage! They're not that fun to watch, but they get the job done. And their coach is just awesome. Love fiery guys like him!

In the last 10 seasons, the NCAA champion has always been top-20 in both offensive and defensive efficiency

This season, only 4 teams fit that criteria:LouisvilleFloridaVillanovaWichita State

is there proof of this? hard statistics?

i do know that no team has ever lost their first game in their conference tourney and go on to win the national championship. If that trend holds. Nova wont win

a bit more generalized but close to that info

Ken Pomeroy's advanced stats and acquired all of his rankings from the past 11 Selection Sundays. Pomeroy cautioned against manufacturing any hard-and-fast "rules" related to his rankings, which is wise. But there are some generalities to be drawn:
None of the past 11 national champions ranked outside the top 20 in adjusted offensive efficiency heading into the tournament, or outside the top 50 in adjusted defensive efficiency. (Interestingly, the best offensive teams have tended to fare better than the best defensive teams in the tournament. Pomeroy's top offensive unit has won three national titles and been to six Final Fours in 11 years, while his top defensive unit has won one national title and been to two Final Fours.) Of those 11 champions, all but three were in Pomeroy's Top 10 in either offensive or defensive efficiency going into the tourney – in other words, they were all elite in at least one of the two facets of the game.
