People in the United States are responsible for their own lives, and the choices the make.
Everyone has an equal chance, what you do with that chance is up to you.
You work hard and follow your goals, you will have people working for you to achieve those goals and the American Dream.
Those that make bad choices, are irresponsible, end up working for others reaching the American Dream.

Everyone has an equal chance in America... who doesn't?
It can't both be unrealistic to ever occur and a realistic goal. We need to get away from idealistic goals of economic equality and towards economic mobility for all.Glad you at least acknowledge that it's indeed not true currently. Is it unrealistic to ever occur? Probably. Is it a realistic goal to work towards? Absolutely.
If you're born into extreme wealth, you have a better chance of "making it" then someone who is born into abject poverty. Luckily, we have plenty of examples of those born into Poverty breaking out of it, but to deny one has a better chance than another is currently unrealistic.

And you do realize wealth doesn't typically remain in one family for infinite generations, right?
