Hey guys,
I’m all about making money. That’s my goal here to help you guys, so let’s take a look at why you should be playing at FANTASY DRAFT, strictly by the numbers.
The $25 Run and Gun last week had a $250K prize pool with a max of 11000 entries. They barely got to 6900. 2800 get paid out, so here’s basically the way the numbers break down. 40.5% of the field got paid out with the overlay. Plus, you have upside of winning way more then double your money if you get into the top part of the payout structure. The same goes for the $12 and $5 tournaments they ran which also saw about the same level of overlay.
The second thing that I credit Jake Brown for turning me onto is the overlay in the double up and 50/50 pools. A few weeks ago it was so bad that they basically paid out 80% of the participants. The numbers have come down a tad as last week the overlay was only about 10-15% in most spots, but that still means 45-50% of a field that is 85% full makes money. It’s more like a 60/40 proposition or better to double your cash.
As you can see just based on the numbers, it’s advantageous to put yourself in these spots. DK and FD tourneys are filling up so fast. Most of the time they are releasing a second or third tourney at the same price point and filling those too. The fact that you can get overlay on some of these smaller sites all but eliminates the rake edge you lose to the the house. It’s not a guaranteed cash situation by any stretch, you still have to build good rosters.
The key point though is you have more wiggle room with overlay. Instead of having to have a roster in the top 20% on FD or DK to cash, a roster that beats 60% of a field here would be enough to get you a positive return. It’s basically twice as easy (40% v. 20%) to cash on Fantasy Draft and that is definitely a place you guys should be looking to get some action.

Have enjoyed playing on Fantasy Draft since I joined in July. Have had good luck with the baseball and Football on there. Definitely love the overlay on there. Only 1 week that I have not made money during the football season.
I agree that all should be playing on this site.
