To go up six and force a successful extra point if Chicago drove for a TD in the final 1:11.
No brainer.

in the rare case chicago scores and misses the XP, than it would still be a tie game at at 21.

The only reason I can think of is because if they went for 1 and converted they would lead by 5. But by going for 2, at no risk, they could lead by 6. With 1:11 left, should Chicago actually score a TD, the game would be tied and the 1 point conversion would have to be made for Chicago to win. That's not automatic.

On the subject of 2 pointers..

Can you return a 2-pt conversion for 2 of your own (like a pick-6)? Or is a turnover on a 2-pt attempt a dead ball?

I know if you block an XP and return it, you get 2.

No points given for the return of a failed 2 point conversion attempt in NFL. DEAD BALL!

Only applies in NCAA.

That's only in College. In the NFL, the play is dead.

GB scores and kicks the XP. 20-15 GB. Chicago scores...misses XP. Chicago still wins 21-20.

GB scores and goes for two but it fails. 19-15 GB. Chicaco scores..misses XP. Chicago still wins 21-19.

GB scores and goes for two and converts. 21-15 GB. Chicago scores...misses the XP. 20-20 and we're headed to overtime.

Unlikely - but it puts you in the best position possible to still have a chance if Chicago scores. XP's aren't automatic or they wouldn't kick them.

Option 1-2 have the same consequences if Chicago scores. Either way you lose...XP or failed 2 point conversion. Up 6 at least gives you a chance. Even if it is 0-1% Gould misses the XP.

Makes perfect sense.. 99% percent of the time would make no difference but the Bears need a TD either way and should they score a TD but miss the PAT the game goes into OT, whereas if the Packers had just kicked the extra point they would lose no matter what. A few years ago the Jaguars I remember made a crazy kickoff return for a TD last play of the game.. filled with lateral.. then missed the extra point after. That was what McCarthy was preventing

don't forget 90+ percent of the time coaches are going off a scoring chart that tells them to go for 2 or kick the extra point, broken down by how much time is left. Its all statistics. Think if they missed and u covered on a 4 pt loss. Depending on my bet amount id prefer them going for 2 whether I was on bears or packers
