120 pitches. that is extremely uncharted territory for 98% of major league pitchers. Don't get spoiled by what bumgarner did, he is the exception and why he is so coveted.

Guy gave up 2 hits and struck out 10. This is the playoffs. Grow some hair on your nuts.

Moore was 2 outs away from a no hitter in LA at 133 pitches. This pitch count shit is stupid. Bochy is a fuckin idiot and did this bungling all second half

Adding I think maybe with a 1 run lead he stays in.

Bochy almost felt with 3 run lead he could let a bunch of scrubs pitch out there.

Some questionable calls by both managers in this series.

Moore has to start the 9th pitch count be damned, especially with a bullpen that struggles like SF's does.

He's probably done the exact same thing numerous times in the playoffs but nobody notices when it works. His only mistake was assuming his relievers could hold a three run lead in the ninth.

Wondered the same. Also wondered why Carolina throws on 1st and goal from the 2 and then runs 3 times with 3 minutes left, only to punt and call timeouts so the Bucs could go down and beat them. Some very crazy shit we've been seeing.

Moore said there was no discussion about going out for the ninth after he threw 120 pitches (barely a month after he threw 133 in a near no-hitter).

</article>"Everyone kind of knew it was my last one," Moore said of the eighth.

=======

I looks to me as if Bochy panicked, which is quite rare for him.

Uh Matt Moore had Tommy John only two years ago, of course Bochy made the right decision with him at 120+ pitches. It's not like this was a World Series game where Moore can simply "leave it all out on the field." No, they still would have not one but TWO more series after this (if they were to win Game 5 that is)

Bochy 100% made the right decision, and anyone that disagrees is just playing Monday morning QB. The only issue I had with his managing there was not using Santiago Casilla at all... dude played a hugely crucial role in the first three titles and has had proven significant success in the postseason throughout his career.

But aside from that, Bochy made the right call going to the pen

If you can't get three outs before the other team scores three runs you don't deserve to win. Three fukin outs.

All these retarded managers overthinking the game. Bunch of idiots. If a guy is pitching well you let him continue.

So what if he had Tommy John surgery 2 years ago? He was throwing 95 MPH at 120 pitches last night. Was his arm just miraculously just gonna fall off in the 9th?
