and the points are statistically irrelevant, the 2.5 won't matter.

Turnovers, the Pats are a better team with respect to turnover margin, the single most important stat in football. Brady throws fewer picks than Manning, both during this season and over their careers. The RB most likely to fumble would be Jacobs, who was just a tad bit lucky he "didn't fumble" against SF :). The Giants can win the TO battle, but the Patriots are better at it.

QB, Brady is better than Manning, both this year and over their careers. He is something like 27-3 following a loss. That's an indication of how he plays when he has chip on his shoulder or something to prove, he elevates his game. His career won loss blows Eli away, 78% to 58%. Stated differently, Eli lost 50 games vs Brady's 35 while playing 40 fewer games. Eli is an impressive 7-3 in the post season, not as good as Brady's 16-5. Eli is a very good QB and is obviously very capable of winning this game, Brady's just better.

Defense, one of the silliest arguments you hear on a daily basis is that the Pats defense is the worst in the league!!! really? based on total yardage allowed!!! is that how cappers cap? what a joke that is. When you consider how the defense performs in the red zone, how many turnovers they create and how many points they allow, the Pats were better than the Giants this year. If you need to keep it simple, what do you think is worse? Giving up more points or more yards? well the Giants gave up more points. People are giving far too much weight to that great defense vs bad defense argument. It's just not there

Giant's defensive line, besides Eli and the WR, the strength of the team. But the Pats offensive lines is one of the best in football, and two of them were Pro Bowlers. What's also overlooked is the fact that Pats have two defensive linemen on the Pro Bowl rosters as well, they're no so bad.

Receivers, both sets of receivers will provide match-up problems for the other team. That's a draw, not a huge advantage for the Giants as many seem to think. Cruz & Nicks and Manningham are very good, but no better than Welker, Gronk, Hernandez, Branch & Co.

The edge, in 2008 the Giants had no chance, this tends to give a team the emotional and preparation and focus edge, also lets them play relaxed. In 2012, despite being favorites, the Pats are receiving far less respect. From gamblers to the internet, to ESPN to everywhere you look, the wrong team is favored. That's the type of stuff athletes use to find an edge for themselves, and nobody is better at that game than Brady

the Giants can win, but I think the Pats win, and the points won't matter.

"the Giants are hot, winning and covering 5 straight games"

but the Pats won 10 straight games, going 6-3-1 against the spread, and the points won't matter. Is it really wise to bet based on this angle?

Over the last two weeks, I have read and heard more nonsensical capping bullshit than I ever remember hearing in my life. I'm not going to mention them all, I'm not interested in rehashing the nonsense or calling people out, but I'm just suggesting that it's been a snowballing intoxicating love-fest for many Giants backers, with many predicting a blowout now.

very weird two weeks, glad the game is here

BOL to all, may you win everything except Giants +2.5 for the game.

Willie, sorry to say but I believe that your statistics-based arguments are equally thin as the ones you rant against. Stats can and do disguise the fact that Pats have hardly had any serious opponent for the whole season (unlike Giants). Hence, any argument such as "Brady has thrown this or that" is simply pointless in this one game. I am not saying Pats will not win, they are a formidable team, but yor post offers pretty much the same lame arguments you so much hate when thry come from the other side. Do not want to bash you, just could not pass on this. BOL tonight.

willie, thank you for a high quality writeup. I'm quite exhausted with the giants love, its very bandwagony, like the world forgot how good brady is.

good luck on your action today. :103631605

My thoughts are mixed on this game but I am taking into account that Bradshaw did not play in the first matchup. I consider that to be a key factor. Gronkowsky, well someone is going to test that ankle I just hope it is a clean hit. In a close call I am going with NYG +3 and I earlier teamed NYG ML with Under 54 and that has dropped since then. I like NE and rode them pretty well. They were a little slow starting as I recall and rallied bigtime in the second halves in a few games. A slow start may mean a slow finish today. If Gronkowsky cannot help stretch the defense then the NYG pass rush might win the day. NE's defense peaked near the end of the regular season and Wilfork is and will be a force to reckon with. I am so glad this game is being played indoors so that the weather will not be a factor. I think all Super Bowls should be played indoors. BOL to everyone and may the best team win.

It has been a while since I swept a superbowl but a great way to end a season.

I'm sorry, did you think your post was respectful?

His post was done respectfully, and pointed out a 100% truth. That you're disgusted by something that you yourself are also guilty of.

It's pretty hilarious you can't see it. But then, there was a lot of stuff these past two weeks you couldn't see.

God I love it when someone gets theirs.
Wear it boy. Wear it well.
