Media has barely mentioned it today. The McCain campaign put out a press release today to announce this. Are they supposed to completely ignore it?

I don't think it's a big deal. The girl's choice to keep the baby is a private choice. Of course then again if it was up to her mom it would no longer be a private choice, it would be the government's choice.

simple, its the hypocrisy of the republican party. they run on the basis of higher moral ground/holier then tho attitude. if this was obama daughter they would be sayin they have no morals, and if liberals like him are elected, he will spread his "wicked"/no morals to the rest of america. as they like to put it decaying american values, etc. can you imagine what rush/hannity/rest of cronies would be doing with this if it was obama/biden daughter?

secondly and more importantly, she like most right wingers support absistence instead of prevention thru safe sex/contraception. if they had it there way, safe sex woudln't be taught in school. rather they want to teach absistence. one can safely assume that absistence has failed her daughter, and would fail american teens.

Not all Republicans feel the same way. They can believe in contraception while not believing in abortion. Do you have any links to any statements she has made in this regard or are you just assuming?

Because she is going to have 2 newborns to look after. She should be a MOTHER first. Because of her situation she is not ready to be one breath away from being president of the United States.

Sure she is. Palin has better judgment than Obama.

What will Obama do if we're attacked again? Give another speech? Aggressive diplomacy? Call for a summit with Ahmanutjob? Order the Attorney General to "get right on it?"

Now way. No how. No Obama.

MSNBC notes that during her 2006 gubernatorial race in Alaska, Palin supported abstinence-only education policies.

“Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?” the survey asked, “Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support,” Palin responded.

She is on the record as being in favor of abstinence-only education and is anti-choice even if the case of rape and incest. Today she says Bristol made the decision to carry the child and she's proud of that decision. Meanwhile if she (and McCain) had her druthers, the decision would belong to the government not to Bristol.

Surely you can see the hypocrisy.

No hypocrisy.

Today killing a baby is still a 'choice.'

Tomorrow it won't be.

No hypocrisy at all there.

Nice spin attempt though.

Then why did the Palin statement note that they were "proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby"? They acknowledged that it was a decision.

You sincerely believe that Joe C?

Republicans sell themselves as "pro-life." However, the GOP controlled both houses of Congress and the Oval Office for six years and did nothing to overturn Roe v. Wade or stop abortion. If the Republicans were really sincere about being pro-life they could and would have already ended legal abortion in America.

The vast majority of the GOP is not serious about ending abortion, but are content on using the issue as a political football to manipulate pro-lifers into thinking they are with them. It's all talk, no action, and nothing will change.
