newbie-- Bet365 an obscure book?

You better reinvestigate your sources.

ps- They have a ton of local shops in the UK and last night they had 3900 players in their pokerroom.

Based JUST on safety.......I cannot think of ONE shop in the world that is MORE safe than Bet365 IMO.

I think you need to reinvestigate your sources. Bet365 poker didnt have 3900 players in their pokerroom. Microgaming Prima Poker Network had 3900 players online. Thats between 30 or so casinos who added the poker room package.

I thank God every morning that Shrink can protect us from OBSCURE books and make sure we are led to play at books like DimePlayer and WorldSportCenter.

Praise Jesus, no praise Shrink

I can't think why anyone would disagree that the following 3 books are the safest financially.

1. Hills - market cap of well over $500m, very profitable including the online element, lots of cash in the balance sheet.

2. Ladbrokes - market cap over $1bn but this includes the Hilton hotels (non-US ones) which have been a bit dodgy since 911. Nonetheless a solid balance sheet and strong betting profits including a profitable online offering.

3. Paddy Power - market cap of about $500m, very strong profits. Balance sheet currently awash with cash but likely not to be in 12 months after their planned expansion. For now though a very safe book.

Anyone who wants to put forward a safer book needs to come up with hard data not "my grannie in Costa Rica says they pay up" or "they advertise with us so they must be okay"

Yes, William Hill is so safe I manage to find a worthwhile bet about once every month.

When I mentioned their name while talking to Sportingbet CS he sneered that they aren't that kind of shop. Course Sportingbet aren't that wonderful dealng dual lines.

Love ya like a brother lakerfan, but no one has made you play at any book. There is a risk with any book on this planet.

Agree, but I, unlike Shrink, don't think a book goes from obscure to ok, just because they advertise at the RX.

to Woody0:

In fact Hills are extremely soft in some areas, so much so that I am now on £10 online with them for pretty well all sports.

The fact is that books like Hills have got so fat on mug punters over the years that they are not geared up to cope with any sort of sharp punter.

Look a little harder Woody, there are easy profits to be taken at this book - no skin off my nose, with a £10 limit.

Nice thread. Lately I have been bombarded with reps from a place called VIP Betzone. One guy calls to offer me 40% then an hour later another guy calls and says he will make it 45%!!
Having been burned by Bet Flamingo and Blue Marlin last year not even 50% will get me in there. LOL
Anyone ever heard of this place though?

Obscure books are books that I have never heard of, never met, and who have been in business for ony a short time...

Guys, I blew it on Pan Am and to keep rubbing it in my face isn't going to change a thing...

I am truly sorry for those who lost money because of this sports book..

i admit i have taken my chances with a few books like that, CROWN INTERTEL/KINGS BET has 7,000. of my money that i will never see but it is my own fault. i knew i should not have been there, i tried to move it but it went the other way and added up to 7 dimes. i have posted up with other books that i know are shaky but have been lucky enough to get in and out. but it is playing with fire! i still look at other new books and ask about them here but really think twice now before sending any funds.
