Today, you have to lay -125 to -130 to bet Dallas at 3. Locals that I have don't shade off numbers like that. So I'm betting Dallas at -110. That's when it pays to have locals.

same here, my local has it -3 (-1.10).. he also keeps all his totals for all sports at (-1.10) yr round,, cant tell you how many times that has helped..

Most places are shaded toward Green Bay at 6.5 but again my local stays 110 at 6.5.

YOu dont guys dont worry about betting with locals?? I mean it is illegal and I have seen many a better in Texas get arrested for such.


I had to stop bettign with locals after winning and not getting paid. Maybe someone can send me some info on locals near Houston. I never hear of any anymore

My local reads the CRIS line right off of don best. I think it is pretty hard to find a local who isn't using the D best line service. If you have a guy who lets you lay 110 when the screen is painted 125, you are a very lucky guy.

I have heard that Chicago is a unique city with lots of high limit locals. In most cities you won't find the type of quality local bookmakers that you find in Chicago. For instance back home in Wisconsin one guy I know has a "pushes lose" rule on NFL totals.

Mt. Prospect, i know it very well. I used to go to concert in Hoffman Estates at a place called Poplar Creek. I am not sure if that is close by, but I think it is. I am dating myself, but I am not sure if Poplar creek is still there. I spend most of my time in California, but am still a huge chicago sports fan, and try to get back to Arlington Park to give my donations to the pari-mutual pools. To give you an idea of how old I am, when i was in high school, we used to drive to Kenosha wisconsin where we could drink because it was 18 back then. Good luck, and happy thanksgiving. I loved going to Lake Geneva.As a matter a fact I went up there in July when I went back home.Libertyville is up by Gurnee isn't it?And I know exactly where MT.Prospect is,I used to work in Arlington Heights.
