I'm not sure I agree that Kent is the more athletic team (in fact, I'd be more likely to say Northern Illinois is better across the board with the exception of quarterback), but I may be scared off of betting NIU because of the gut-wrenching way they lost week to Central Michigan. To fight all the way back with that balls-to-the-wall second half they played then lose in overtime, it's hard to predict how a team will respond to something like that.
The numbers I use suggest a NIU win in the neighborhood of 7-10 points. That's not hard to believe when Akron has only beaten 2 Division I opponents this season, but the unknown emotional factor makes me not want to play it.
What I might do is watch the first half for a possible 2H wager, depending on how each team looks.
