Why Is My Gut Telling Me to Play Jets and Bears This Week?

These lines seems awful fishy to me and with the public absolutely pounding NE and Pitt, something's telling me to go with Bears and Jets this week. In my last man standing thread I posted how I loved Pitt, but after further review, the line just stinks and has Bears win written all over it. I think the books would've gotten just as much public play on Pitt with a line of -4 or -5, but they obviously don't think it'll happen and the sharps would eat them alive at a number like that. So confused this week. lol

Broncos I agree 100%. I love the Jets this week and the Steelers line is really fishy. NE line has already dropped down to -3.5 even though public is all over the Pats. Patriots offense isn't in sync yet and I think Ryan has a good defense prepared for them.

Between those 2 games I see a 1-1 day at worst!!

i love the jets too. the pats defense is in serious trouble lossing vrabel burschi, harrison, in the offseason, trading seymor, nd now lossing its best player and most important jerod mayo. not to mention the jets o line and defense are both top 5 imo. the bears play i dont understand at all. bears are 0-7 without urlacher. the bears secondary is a little banged up also. yes pitt is without polomalu but they have plenty of talent on that defense that theyll be fine, not to mention the best defensive cordonator in football. but tahts just one guys opinon. id be very careful taking chi i dont see them being able to really drive on or stop pitt...good luck on the jest game though:toast:

I'll do two parlay bets with the same amount of money.

Parlay 1:
Pitt -3
NE 3 1/2

Parlay 2:
Chi +3
NYJ 3 1/2

I will make profit if one parley is wrong, but will lose money if one of the parlay is wrong in both.

Upon further review, I am staying away from Jets game and am going with my first instinct and taking Pitt. After all, I am getting them at -2.5 for my contest.

I like the Jets, Pats D is awful and Rex Ryan inherited an already good D and will make them great.

If my contest line was 3 or more, I'd either take Bears or stay away, but since I'm getting -2.5, I'm taking Pitt. Pitt always seems to find a way to win in big spots. Plus, I'm pretty sure GB D had their way with Cutler last week. Pitt front 7 is the best in the league and Cutler will make mistakes. Pitt's O will do some more hurry up this week which they had success with against Tenn and will keep Chi D from rotating like they want. Chi WR's are weak which will soften the loss of Troy for Pitt. You better believe LeBeau will blitz the hell out of Cutler and as we say when he was with Denver and last week, when he is pressured, he makes mistakes.

I like the Bears in this one also... No Urlacher or Troy P. for both teams.. Bears at home trying to avoid an 0-2 start will play their asses off.. Defense will be steller, and maybe Jay Cutler will start to settle in.. Steelers didn't impress me at home last week, so I don't think they will play all that much better on the road at Soldier field.. Ben will see a wicked pass rush in his face all day long..

This would be my upset pick of the week... I'm going Bears on the money line..

Steelers didn't impress me at home last week, ..

You mean beating the team with the best record last year isn't impressive? Regardless of how it was done, they beat a 13-3 team from a year ago with arguably one the best D's in the league and a solid running game.

So I guess the Bears did impress you with their loss last week along with Cutler's 4 picks against a D that is very good, but still not as good as Pitt. Cutler has struggled against the 3-4 since being in Denver and no team runs it better than Pitt. Watch for it.
