Didn't see anything disrespectful there. In trying to answer you, General, I'd say we're simply curious what he may have done in terms of going down there and talking to someone, similar to his investigative visit before Panam opened for business, or actually has been conflabbing with people behind the scene. Failing that, was wondering since this issue came up if any more thought/effort has been devoted to providing some kind of limited guarantee for posters who sign up for new books in the future here to provide some level of confidence that this won't happen again.

And before I hear it, no, the Rx needn't provide any help whatsoever with any book that advertises here - but it might make good business sense to consider it, as I don't see the coming environment being particularly conducive to new books or books with a limited track record.

Jazz,

Although I'd like to guarantee our advertisors, it doesn't make good business sense to do so...

I don't own this compnay any longer, but I will take it up with them...

If you stick with sponsors who have been around for a few years, you should be fine...

I probably have lost more than anyone here to bad outfits (like SBG GLOBAL), though I doubt anyone here is too concerned...

Thanks - be sure to tell the owners that my own personal opinion is that without such a guarantee, even if small to protect only the small bettors, the track record here of advertisers or recommended books going belly-up, but especially Panam after the glowing tributes paid to the crew there at the beginning in this forum, will almost certainly lead to considerably fewer post-ups from forum readers and active encouragement from posters not to sign-up at the new books. This isn't a blame game, it's just a re-evaluation of the reliability of any advice offered here on the strength of new books that aren't backed by somone like Spiro. Meaning, the advice may have been well-intentioned but proven to be unreliable, so anyone acting on future advice in similar situations here at the Rx with respect to new books advertising here without some sort of guarantee really deserves a lobotomy with an oyster knife and MD 20/20 for a painkiller. Doesn't mean they ever should have listened, it means they simply need to read the writing on the wall and not fuc-k themselves twice.

p.s. Notice I'm not blaming the Rx for anything. So no need for anyone to rush in and say 'everyone needs to evaluate the books for themselves' - I know that.

Thanks, Wil - I notice Shrink said this:

I really appreciate all the good feedback...

I will speak with ownership and report back here what we decide to do...

Thanks,
THE SHRINK

And then this here: Although I'd like to guarantee our advertisors, it doesn't make good business sense to do so... I don't own this compnay any longer, but I will take it up with them...

So I guess we'll wait to see what the owners do. Hope the wait isn't as long as the '30 day' wait promised by the Panama Gaming Commission may unfortunately turn out to be.

For shits and giggles, what would you like to have GUARANTEED?

not going to put words in jazz's mouth here but personally you could start with a players postup money! all people who sign up through the rx link to a book should have their funds held in a seperate account...its not a new concept but you seem to have some sort agenda by NOT doing it.

I believe it is a TERRIBL business decision to leave your customers :hanging in the wind", so to speak. It is very short-sighted to think otherwise.

Don't you think the ability to protect a player's post-up money in this dangerous business would be a HUGE asset...more than adding a new writer, a new mod, or another contest?

Don't you believe that would give you a competitive advantage in the marketplace?

Can't see how any of this leads to not good "business sense"

Drunk, one problem with guarantees is where would The Rx. start? The existing advertisers are all well established books with many clients. If we came up with some sort of guarantee program it would be almost impossible to make it retro-active, and cover posters already posted-up, and doing business for who knows hwo long with a given book. On the other hand if we guaranteed new post ups only, and a book fails then what about the loyal posters that were not guaranteed. What if a separate party, one not connected with the Rx. came up with a viable plan to guarantee players, and then became an advertiser here at the Rx. (possibly free or at reduced rates), imo. that might make more sense, and actually have a chance of working. I am speaking in broad strokes here just off the top of my head, but to have an option available for any poster or lurker to obtain a quarantee on the site for advertiser books by a separate business that itself is an advertiser might work very well.

good move by the shrink, he sold the site just before his credibility dipped to near zero!!

maybe shrink knew alot more than what most of us here? that's why he sold the site just a month or two before the betpanam turmoil.

smart!!! the shrink made huge $$$ for selling his loyal followers to betpanam... and made even more for selling RX. (just in time)

Gents,

The original thread and some of the comments on this one are simply sickening. It seems as most of you have forgotten who is hiding behind the "nbalive2005" character. As a reminder this posting persona is directly related to the old G.A. , the one that Ken was the first to expose its scam . Seems as most of you have forgotten about this.

As far as Silver's accusations go , and to the best of my knowledge, I honestly believe Ken overexposed himself due to the fact that people he believed as friends were involved . He has not been the only one. SBR did the same and had them on the recommended list more on trust of the single individuals than anything else .

Back in those times Ken even went to the extreme of "punishing" one book to support one of the people he believed as friends on his ( legitimate ) personal dealings.

Can you blame friendship ? Has anyone of you been screwed by a friend ? It seems easier to be screwed by a friend than by anyone else as friends have an immense leverage on something called trust. Besides...no one expected these "honorable people" to show their real snakelike faces , not so soon at least.

More will be said about the Panam Saga, I fear this is just the beginning . Hence don't allow characters like nbalive2005 to throw in their dirty agendas and deceive.

One last thought : Silver, if you're a Man, post under your known posting persona. Otherwise stfu. You are the Stiff, not Ken.

Shrink, I'd also have to say the post-up money would be a good place to start, to some reasonable limit, a limit enough to protect the small players and still give some encouragement to larger players to dip their toes in the water. Note I'm referring only to new books without an established track record or backed by someone like Spiro.

if shrink wanted to gain some credibility and respect, he should give back all the money that pan am paid him for hyping/advertising them. send it back to panam and tell them to use that money to pay some of the players.
but the chances of this happening are doubtful
imo.

Roberto Castiglioni,

i don't see what GA had to do with this.
they bailed me out of parlaycard failure, not much, like a nickel, with 20x roll-over or whatever....but that was nice of them.

and eventually they were sold to royal.
they didn't screw any players...so i didn't lose a cent....

and you thinking i'm the ex-owerner of GA, mike silva or whoever is overpraising me...

i'm just a small player, had like under a dime w/ GA and under a dime for betpanam.

btw, can anyone answer my qs?

1. why was shrink kissing betpanam ass? and selling his loyal followers?

2. why did he sell the site one month before the corruption of betpanam? but not 3 months before or after the corruption?

don't you guys find it suspicious?
