Why is Florida Head Football Coach Jim McElwain laying naked on a dead shark?

Sorry, I said the wrong thing when I said “fake”

I think the photo itself could be real. It also could be a gag where someone put their friend on a shark. Or, it could be a chubby guy who has a resemblance to Jim McElwain deciding to dry hump a shark while nude.

But, it is not the coach. Clearly.

Do you think every single sports news outlet questioning McElwain about this and reporting on it have ignored the fact the photo could be photoshopped? In other words, don't you think most of them have done their homework to avoid embarrassing themselves and their credibility? That's the first question I would've asked.

You can say with absolute certainty that nobody can conclude the man is McElwain? Why are people asking him about it if nobody can conclude it's him?

Have you been paying attention to the media's behavior, the "real" media not sports media, since November 9th?

Do you realize it was reported as "fact" that Trump had the MLK bust removed from the White House?

It was just reported as "fact" by the NY Times 48 hours ago that Jim Comey asked for more resources for the FBI Russia investigation before being fired.
That "fact" is and was 100% demonstrably false. Yet the NY Times employs more editors than the outlets asking the coach about this have staff.

In other words, the media does this crap all the time and 2 outlets asking about this is not "every single sports news outlet"

I dunno if it is him or not, haven't read about it besides on this site but the interview linked on the previous page definitely made it look like it could be him.

Why be so defensive if it isn't you? Who cares? You're the coach of an SEC school, you aren't the guy who sets the fed fund rate.

Just laugh it off and keep it moving, make a few witty quips if it isn't you. But maybe that isn't his personality? I dunno but he isn't on trial for murder here. I probably wouldn't be so uptight if it isn't him.

The guy doesn't even look like McElwain. Seriously, this is the reason why so many people have been to prison over flawed eyewitness testimony.

Note, the guy in the photo has curly hair.

^ Not curly hair.

This isn't really hard....

Do you think this guy could afford a nose hair trimmer?...:ohno:

Well yeah, this is totally plausible and I agree. I'm just saying it's not a photoshopped photo is all.

In fact, you and one word response slapshot at the RX are the only people I've seen out there saying it's a fake.

“This guy lives in upstate New York, that photo was taken two years ago off the shores of Long Island — not in Florida,” David Pingalore of WKMG-TV in Orlando told Mike Bianchi on Friday on Bianchi’s “Open Mike” radio show.

Pingalore said he learned the naked man’s identity after a pal of the ex-cop contacted him and sent him photos of the man in less revealing attire.
“I have the man that’s fully clothed that’s naked on the shark, on the boat. Yes, normal photographs,” Pingalore said.

The It is "definitely him" caper has been solved.

Of course it wasn't McElwain.
