Why is bonus whoring bad? At least the 5 times action is still being put at risk???

By far, your most intelligent thread of all time. I'd like to hear from you boys now. I sent RIO 40k. I gave RIO close to 300 dimes in action. So you tell me, where is the fraud here? I should lose back the bonus with all that action, shouldn't i? It's not like i took the bonus and ran away with it. I played 300 dimes in action to them for Christ sakes.

Getting bonuses isn't whoring, IMO. Setting about to only give the book enuff action to squeeze out some money with no risk and leave them in your wake is abusing the system and what i consider WHORING! It is the intent to ONLY PLAY FOR BONUS and not actually gamble at the out that sets it into the WHORE CATEGORY. Most players don't do this, those that do are "syphoning $" intended for legitimate players.

Bonus whoring-aka hopping books left & right to get new bonuses is not inherently bad.

Using multiple accounts at one book to exploit their bonuses is pure thievery.

Bonuses should be limited. I can't understand why they would give you a bonus on $40K. Most strong shops cap the bonus at $10K deposit.

TT: Agreed

But then, who created this monster?

As with most deals, there are a few people who will try look for a loophole and try to exploit the bonus deal.

So, what's evolved, multiple rollover reqs and rules, which in the end, isn't all that bad.

Non Credit Gamblers will always jump from one book to another, one casino to another.

Books pay bonuses to get NEW REAL customers and not for one guy to have five accounts under different names. I have accounts that I have rolled over 50+ times and it would be wrong of me to close up take their money and send it back to them a few weeks later under a different name to get a bonus. THEN THEY ARE PAYING A BONUS TO GET THE SAME BUSINESS THEY ALREADY HAD.

Now there are situations where I would of stuck up for sick if he,the other name(s),and the books knew what was going on.
Perfect example is Dave from Rio knows me and also knows two other people I know from New York. They wanted to play at Rio but are from the old school(one guy is Ronny and he still listens to 8 tracks LOL)he does not have a computer. These guys wanted to play at Rio and I set them up accounts at Rio and neteller accounts online.

Bonus whoring is just like buying only advertised sale items in regular stores IMO. The shop advertises something and gives a discount which probably makes them lose money after expenses on that item alone. But they hope that by getting you in the store you will also be attracted by their other items. Most shoppers do buy other stuff as well, not because they want to be ethical, but because they simply want the other stuff too.

I think sportsbook bonuses work on the same principle. They hope you will like your experience and will choose to stay and if not, the action requirement ensures it won't cost them too much.

I see nothing wrong with doing it if you are following the posted rules. The book wasn't forced to make the offer after all. And if you have ever stayed with a book longer than the minimum required time, then you are not really whoring since there is some probability that you will stay longer. You are giving them an honest shot even if you think there is a 95% chance you won't like it and will bail after the action requirement is met.

In fact there is even a parallel to be drawn with dating. If you are guy who changes girlfriends a lot then the girls could say you are sex whoring, but most of them still hope that they will be the one you stay with and subconsciously assign a nonzero probability to you marrying them. Most guys eventually do settle down, so you gotta give the women some credit for having faith and good foresight. You may think you're whoring but in fact you are not.

We all agree that bonuses are a "loss leader" of sorts, or actually a break-even leader depending on rollover. If the "whore" was to keep playing or at least didn't set about to only play the min to grab the bonus and be gone then they are not whoring, IMO. Deciding the book is not a viable or desireable place to play sometime into the rollover and then bailing when it is done is not an abuse, but having no intention other than to scalp/middle off the bonus and be gone is what I feel is an abuse of the bonus "system". To cut down on it outs make more and more restrictions like bigger rollover and longer "park periods", which then makes it worse for those who just were legitimate in their "contract for bonus".
