Except for maybe the NHL, which no one cares about anyway, there's no sport in which the regular season means as little as the NBA.
As such, you see a game like Sea vs. Atl in Sea...there's no rhyme or reason for the vastly superior Sonics to blow out the pathetic Hawks, arguably the NBA's worst team. But so what? The games aren't played on paper, they're played on the court. And if a superior team like Sea can go down by 15 in the first half, they clearly spent their Sunday doing anything but preparing for the game. They're probably tired and lazy, and don't care.
