I have always felt that the main reason some of our best handicappers keep their wisdom to themselves is because there is always the flak given out by some posters when their picks don't win ! It's like the handicapper personally has just cost them a lot of $$. I will give an example. On 1460 radio here in Vegas, John Kelly hosts the Leroys Sports show. On Wednesday preceeding the Masters tournament, John has on this golf expert that is reported to be the best golf handicapper in the business. He sells his picks but He gives out a few of his best picks on the air for free probably to get us interested in his picks in the future. Well I bite and take his main picks. He loved Fred Couples over Lee Westwood ! He also liked Tom Lehman over Maruyama Shigeki. On the props side He liked the over 65.5 for lowest scores as well as the over for the total winning total of winner. He was an easy winner on the first 2 matchups and He appears to be looking great on the other 2 prop bets. Why do I mention this ? Mainly because I want to bring forward the fact that when posters criticize a fellow poster if their picks go awry, it discourages them from ever posting their picks again.
I have read plenty of posts where handicappers are criticized for not keeping their seasonal totals or whatever ! It's just my opinion but We have some great handicappers here and We should do everything possible to encourage them to share their picks and knowledge. However We should also keep in mind that having picks go awry is all part of the business. jmho:toast:
