In the last debate we saw the same arguments over Iraq and the economy. They spent pretty much all their time with the same sound bites and clips they had in the last debate. We already know where Barrack Hussein stands, and we already knows where POW Mccain stands.

- Conn. legalized gay marrage in a 4-3 vote yesterday. Why not talk about that issue?
- How about abortion?
- How about schools, funding, vouchers?

I believe the mods and media doesn't want Obama talking about Abortion, gay marriage, and schools because he has the less popular views to most americans. Most americans would tend to agree with him on Iraq, but they don't like thinking about babies getting killed, or same sex couples flaunting around their streets etc. They don't want to hear how our 30th ranked in the world public schools are "just fine", but then oBAMA sends his kids to private school.

The social issues have been non-issues thus far.

C Note those issues seemed to have taken a back burner to the economy. And rightly so. People are more concerned at this moment in time about keeping their homes and food on the table.

Newsflash:

It was a town-hall debate ... the audience could have asked him if they had chosen to.

I agree, I'd like to see them talk about a lot of other things, like drug policy, internet betting, supreme court justices, etc etc. In the past these sort of things came up, but with the economy and the world everything is so damn narrow.

What did i miss? That debate was a fucking joke. A ying and a yang these two, because the more you look at them the more you see they are just one. But thats the beauty. Americans for the most part are fat, overworked, tired and selfish pricks who dont want to actually think critically about anything other then what trough they are going to wind up that night. Look at the TV formats. They give you two guests with two sides. That is about all Americans can process, because they are also overstimulated. so lets keep pretending as if this election actually has any substance, because pretend and dress up are fun distractions from the truth.

first off did you really say "Gay Marriage" cgold? if you did you are less educated on their positions than i thought.

secondly Judge said it perfectly. in the two debates they have had so far to talk about abortion (a non issue, because the republican presidents have made it a non issue) or gay marriage would have been an enormous waste of time compared to foreign policy or the economy.

A lot of these issues were discussed quite extensively during the primaries. If you paid attention, you'd have a pretty good read on how the candidates feel about those issues.

hehehehe

how many questions did Brokaw choose to ask?

I think it was less than 15, and some of those came from the internet. I'm guessing several people in the hall and a few hundred thousand people on-line submitted questions on other topics that Brokaw didn't choose.

Having said that, I understand why the economy and foreign policy were the only real topics covered.

And there is not a chance in hell Brokaw is going to put somebody on the defensive.

BTW: he was the worst moderator to date, beating out the chick doing the VP debate. One decent mod in three debates, even that's sad.

The economy should be the top issue and Iraq is a big one... but why is ALL of the time spent on them? It is just the same dumb sound bites.

Talk about Iraq and the economy 50% of the time and then other stuff.

Cuss- I understand they talked about these issues in some of the primaries, but this is the real election. I watched it, I know their positions, but what about the cheetos eating public who doesn't follow this stuff as much? It isn't for ME..they are not going to sway MY vote... but what about the undecided voters etc.

GTC and C-Gold are fine, but what about Sally Smith the independent.

The crowd in the "town hall" debate was controled with their scipted questions. They had to have them "approved". The execution of that "townhall" wasn't very realistic. Both guys went over the time limits... Obama had a rebuttal when he wasn't supposed to etc.

Who can't eat?

Let me guess... "the poor". Did you know "the poor" are more obese on average than "the middle class" or " the wealthy"?

You should come to DC and see all the loud fat ass women that can't even walk up the stairs. They HAVE to take the escalator because their fat asses can't even move.

How about the obese black lady at the street stand in the morning. She gets a hot dog, soda and a bag of potato chips at 8 AM for breakfast. Sje is so damn fat she can't even see her toes...

Yeah, she can't eat... more like she can't stop eating.

He thinks he'll end up paying for the wedding if Obama is elected, I'd guess.

This is a summation with which nearly all of us can agree

I'd add within the context of the OP that when years of personal investment are swirling down the financial toilet, there's very little interest by most folks about the fate of a 2oz, 2" long embryo being flushed down the toilet in the doctor's office.

Brokaw was a complete embarrassment. Every time McCain and Obama really started to challenge each other on the issues (like they're supposed to do in a real debate) he started whining like the petty prima donna that he is that they were wasting his valuable time. Like he was the most important part of the whole thing.

I think they should let Jim Leher moderate them all from now on until he retires.

NOW, you're finally starting to get close to it.

Since 'you' are so well educated on the core issues at hand, it's now incumbent upon you to carry the message to your less informed neighbors and community members.

Of course that means getting away from 2+ hours a day posting your Hot Political Opinions on a sports handicapping website frequented (in politics room) by about two dozen people who have already decided their Presidential votes.

Take those couple hours a day and get out into your community where Real Live People work and live.

Tell people just how important you believe the issues of "gay marriage" and "abortion' are to them and to the future of our nation.

If you move even ONE person in the real world community to vote in harmony with your preferences, you are immediately ahead of any such results you think you might be getting via posting a couple dozen internet posts to the RxSportsHandicappingPoliticsForum.

Let us know how it goes for you in these final few weeks before the election.

heh..I see that based on your continued focus on spending time lecturing our 30person cyberpub, you're not going to be going out to do some legwork within your own community and are instead going to wait on someone else (Obama, mcCain...whoever) to do the work.
