Without watching the video, do you actually have any point?

Is taxation institutionalized theft and extortion? Yes.

Is taxation legal? Yes. You have to be seriously fucking stupid to believe that wars, detention centers, and torture are legal, but somehow they just can't figure out how to make tax legal, and are playing some grand masquerade and conspiracy to hide the fact.

Is tax immoral? Yes. Is the law immoral? Yes. Just as wars and torture are immoral, so fucking what?

For every person that gets off on some tax evasion charge by technicality or jury, there are dozens more convicted. Go google some famous tax protesters and see where they spend their time.

It's easy to avoid and minimize taxes. Hell, most expats don't even file, but that is different. Exposure and risk. Want to stop filing, move to Costa Rica.

Why do stupid instead, is there a point? Ask Wesley Snipes.

That tax protester BS is just that, BS. Those people go to jail, regardless of what they claim. In fact, using those excuses to avoid paying taxes makes you triple liable, because it's an admission that you willfully avoided paying the tax (believing some cockamamey story about how you don't have to pay is not a viable excuse).

Lots of people get away with not paying tax, but not by those methods.

The simple answer is...try not paying them. What I am told, with no sources to back this up, is that there are many laws regulating how employers must withhold payroll, SSI, and income taxes and they must be deposited in a timely manner. So a self employed person operating under the radar might get away with it for awhile, but someone getting a steady paycheck has no chance. Some celebs that have been made examples of are Willie Nelson and Wesley Snipes among many others

What I think the video shows is the concept of jury nullification, whereby a jury can vote guilty or not based on their consciense and without regard for the law. This is not something that is explained in the jury instuctions as it could be very dangerous if its use became widespread.
