Why do poker players get all the fame/money and sports bettors don't?

Does it annoy you poker players are reaping in all the fame, fortune and endorsements worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and quite often millions. I, like many of you play poker but prefer betting on sports...we have tried to better out handicapping through trial and error and years of experience. I would hazard a guess there are more sports bettors worldwide than poker players. Where is our WSOP Tournaments worth $110 million and our ESPN coverage?

Maybe it's sour grapes, but it ticks me off watching some 20 year old pimple faced kid wearing sunglasses fall ass backwards into a lifetime of fortune.

Because sportbetting doesn't make for any kind of TV coverage.

What are the cameras going to do? Go to your house and watch you get drunk while you sweat the 10K you just laid on a game while Stuart Scott has one eye on you with his lazy eye staring at something else

Exactly, plus that and the fact, poker is 'sexy' right now.

Um, because poker players are making money off their skill, while sports bettors are just betting on other people's skill.

Plus they conned the public into thinking Poker is a skill, while sports gambling is a back-room activity.

I am sure a sharp TV producer could make a reality sports betting show very entertaining. TV networks target audience male 20-50 would watch it. If Trump can do it....

When the off-shore funding issues started up, the poker lobby were out for themselves. They did want the sportsbetters to help them, but they were not helping us.

Aint that the truth,it's all in who gets the cards even your rough shot players will beat you even when you played according to Phil.

Phil has never lost. Never seen a person with as many bad beats and poor play from his opponents turn lucky. Just ask him.
