why do pitchers suck so bad at hitting?

Some of them hit well, but for the most part, they get maybe 5 AB's at most a week.
Pitchers are not paid to hit, they are paid to pitch, having said that, they really should work on fundamentals though.
(like hitting behind runners, laying down sac bunts and all)

just find it pathetic that the most fundamental at bat(a bunt) seems so hard 4 some of these guys...

forget pitchers, most everyday players have a hard time laying down bunts when asked to.

The NL is the only time a pitcher will bat.

All the minor league teams use the DH so pitchers aren't even practicing hitting,bunting and so forth coming up.

The pitchers don't want to hit and for the most part we don't want to see them hit.
