Why do NFL teams convert QBs into WRs?

Why do teams draft qbs and make them WRs. I mean that to that doesn't make much sense. Are there not enough receivers out there?

A QB is supposed to have an idea of what a WR is supposed to do. If he is athletic enough, he can actually DO what he is supposed to do.

This would be moot if he was a good enough QB. If he isn't, then this is how you salvage him.

Athletic quarterbacks with average arms can thrive in college but not on the pro level. That athleticism can, however, be used at the WR or RB spot in the NFL with minimal training. Not many WRs have the speed and moves of Pat White or the size/speed combo of Matt Jones.

lots of players change position when moving to the next lever

high school to college to pros

unless your a dominate player at that position you could move around alot
