Because most liberals are too busy following Al Gore and his Global warming myth! This doesn't leave much time for them to think for themselves (which liberals usually can't) thus they need government involved in every aspect of their lives to tell them what to do and what is good for them..............NO THANKS! I will do my own thinking and continue to not trust anyone involved in Government and believe that most politicians are just in it for themselves!!!!!!

its philosophy. some believe you need government to revive this economy and that the last 8 years of giving people the money back has done nothing.

im to the point now where i dont care either way. stimulus is going to be passed, and im not going to keep whining like a little kid about it. i dont know if it'll work, nobody knows. i hope it does, just get it over with and see what happens.

going back and forth again again again again again again again again again and again again again again is pointless and unnecessary. part of me says no lets just crash and burn, rebuild with no stimulus. other part of me says obama won, america decided that they wanted more government which i don't think is wrong, i just have some disagreements with some of the spending in the package.

i think were at a point where we want more government intervention whether you believe it or not. you might not, but a majority of the people i believe do, regardless of any poll. just let it go through and be done with it.

History shows govt. screws up everything they get involved in. Do you think all of a sudden that it's going to change now, because Obama got elected. This is socialism. What we are going through right now, is socialism. Govt. got involed in the free market, and this is the consequnce. This is your utopia GTC. This is socialism. Bush was a socialist. Obama is a soiclaist. This shit is not gonna get better, it is only gonna get worse, but this is what you want, so you should be happy.

First of all i'm not from the crowd of too much or too little government. I believe they have their place in our society. What I don't agree with is just standing aside and letting the market correct itself. I don't believe in doing "nothing". Whether its "too much" government as you all will say, then so be it. Yes we can argue back and forth that government involvment didn't work. But right now are dire times. I'm lucky to have my job I have now but I feel for those that are struggling. The survival of the fittest or capitalist ideology isn't something I agree with, not but the slightest. Not when my people next to me are struggling. They're hard working people. Honest people. They're not living off the government like many sarcastically insist. Most importantly I believe government should be involved in the creation of jobs since to me thats the most dire of needs. Mortgages? Not so sympathetic there. (And I'm in the business) But unemployment, thats where I stand for assistance. Not talking about benefits or unemployment insurance either. I'm talking about straight and clear job preservation and creation.

Oh the conservatives love govt. if it is there to enforce their will on others. Why else would they take up congresses time voting on a law to make flag burning illegal. How about the war on drugs. They have fought long and hard to take women's right do what they want with their body's.

If you look real hard a whole lot of government is to serve conservatives ends. Almost all the mean parts of govt.

Only a complete donkey would suggest that Bush was a fiscal
conservative.

There has never been a time in recorded history when government was not involved in the economy. The "Free Market" has never existed. And, if it did, it would be contrary to the principals of democracy. One can't simultaneously say that the people rule but that they must submit to whatever conditions the market imposes on them. To place an aspect of social life as pervasive as the economy outside of political control means to undermine democratic commitments. You can't tell people that they're free but keep them enslaved to the vicissitudes of a market.

Why? Insecurity plain and simple. They’re looking for that cradle to grave assurance. Be careful what you hoped for, you just might have found it.

Because we can't wait to divvy up the $2,321.43 you pay in federal income tax each year

I'll consider this deep wisdom when I take my trip to Atlanta in mid-May and enjoy the greatness of the US Interstate highway system.

That's a pretty harsh slur towards the millions of Americans who used that as part of their campaign platform to elect GW in 2000 and 2004
