How old is your PC?

I usually post from home or work.

since 2004, i'm on my 4th work computer....these run okay....but the 3rd one wasn't that old....just got slow (maybe needed cleaning)

from home, I had a desktop and laptop before....bought a laptop in dec 2005 (dumped old), new desktop in dec 2007, another laptop in 2010.

My goal is to get a new destop and new laptop once every 4 years.....but alternating so I have one computer that is never more than 2 years old.

I've had the same problem with every PC I have ever owned, finally bought a MAC, it's as fast as it was the day I bought it. Like someone else in this thread said, you get what you pay for

PS, I have never ran an antivirus program. Had this computer for 4 or 5 years. Never had to replace a single part. Got 1 virus and it was the exact same day I tried out Google Chrome instead of Firefox.

I just scan with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware once a month and don't download shit that looks iffy.

My secret service agent, 007, told me long ago to avoid gigglzle becuzof viruses.

Why do you upgrade so often?

How many seconds does/should it take you to get to a website?

a computer every 4 years doesn't sound too often to me.....

wanting a laptop and desktop isn't unusual

makes senes in my mind to upgrade every 2 years with above factors

I clean my registry once per week and do a virus scan twice per week.
The computer I'm on now is about 6 months old and as fast as the day I bought it.

I have a 9 year old laptop that I use everyday and other than some minor quirks it runs smoothly.

Here's a guy who owns 3 Macs and puts them though their paces and he's saying goodbye to the Mac OS X

Yeah? How fast is that? When did u buy it ? How expensive?
I've had it over a year now, not sure how fast it is in terms of measurement but when I click on something its there instantaneously and that's fast enough for me, I paid about 1300 for it

Hell, my computer is old and runs like the day it came out of the box. You just have to make sure it is setup right. I can run brand new games without any lag and all I have is like 3 GHZ and a gig of RAM.

I think PCs are programed to go slower over time so you are forced to update and buy a new one

If you actually believe that, then it's obvious you don't know anything about computers. There are some very savvy buyers who can do amazing things with software and hardware. If there was something in a computer that made them slow down with age it would have been common knowledge years ago.
