Last sunday...New Jersey up 3 10sec left foul clippers and clips make both...6sec left, clips fouls NJ and they miss both...Clips nail 3 at buzzer

It's a bad play to foul that's why they don't do it.

Not when theres only a like 4 secs left in OSU.

Every time Ive seen coaches do it, it has worked out (in college anyway).

I had OSU & the Under. Two winning bets ripped away. Just a horrible day & tourney so far.

Actually, Hill is at fault ,Matta and Diebler asked him why he didn't foul, if you watched as they walked to the bench.

Obvious foul situation.

Matta should have called a TO after Hill made both Fts.

It's a bad play to foul that's why they don't do it.

The Clippers needed 5 things to go their way.
It is ALWAYS the right idea to foul. Anybody can get lucky and make 1 3 point shot. Force them to make FTs, foul you again and then repeat process. Also if the team decides to miss the 2nd FT intentionally they would then have to grab the offensive board and make a shot. Force teams to execute multiple times in order to beat you, it's a sound strategy.

the only reason I can come up with is that coaches are afraid of their team screwing up the inbounds pass or not getting the board on a missed attempt.

I heard on the radio today that Matta was screaming at one of his guys because he didnt commit the foul. It ultimately cost them the game & tourney. Id love to know if Matta really told the kid to foul or if he was screaming to make it look like he had caled the play but didnt.
