Why did the Florida/Kentucky Line drop?

I put Florida at minus 9.5 last night thinking that it was a bargain. Kentucky has no running game and I do not see how their defense will slow down the Gators. I was expecting the number to rise, however, the number is down to 8. Anybody have any theories why? What am I missing?

Hard to lay more than a TD on the road in an SEC game. Home dog naturally has value. Florida offense was stagnant vs Tenn, and Kentucky is known for playing the spoiler in these type of games. Kentucky will be MUCH more agressive offensively than Tenn was. Fulmer was looking for a reason to keep it slow and run the ball, it will be the opposite vs Ky, they have nothing to lose.

NASDAQ:

Don't you think that if Kentucky plays aggressively they will be prone to mistakes and big plays. I agree that homedogs in the SEC are normally good value. How do you think Lorenzen will fair?

Zook is by no means my favorite coach. Still, Florida should have the firepower to cover the number. We will see, but I thought the line should have opened at 12 to 13.

ESH, it looks like that Larry Fedora is calling the plays. This offense is NOT the Marshall offense that Z brought with him. Zook is holding the Gators back with his short passing game. The lowest line I have seen is 9. Also,it looks like Chris Leak will be the starter and get most of the plays. I played Ky + 10 very early. The U F fans are in a big uproar over Zooks in game decisions. LT

if leak starting and getting most of the snaps; gators will cover easily. if not; kentucky might win outright.

I am sure LSU, Arkansas and Tennessee all are crying over their "down" year. LOL.

I don't think posters are reading this Fla team correctly. This is not the offense they ran under "The Golf Visor". FLa is running a very conventional offense against good competition. They are trying to set up the pass with the run. This is the complete opposite of what they use to do which was set up the run with the pass. That being said this Kentucky defense looked horrible against the run when they played Louisville, don't know if they have impoved much or not. Not playing the game but you need to forget about how FLA ran the offense in the past.

Just an opinion as I don't intend to play this game. Florida might have its offensive shortcominngs under Zook but their defense should be able to handle the Doughboy. He just might be running for his life all day.

The Cats will get a steady dose of Deshawn Wynn & Ran Carthon. I liked the gators a little at -10, but I love them at -8 or 9.

The UF defense has been a pleasant surprise, so Lorenzen wouldn't scare me.

jwunder: I'm with you .... UK's run defense SUCKS ..... they've been much better against the pass -------- don't really like this game at all as long as the Twin Z's are on the uf sideline

But your take and analysis are right on. Zook is the stuttering prick(Spider)from "Good Fellas", and 'Brecher's offense is as transparent as Victoria's Secret panties.

Wynn running the pigskin is a sight to be seen, and the defense under Strong has been impressive even though we've given up some heart-breaking big plays. 24-10 against Tennessee is not indicative of the game flow.

Again, we are a VERY young team, and those things happen.

Tennessee had an outstanding defensive gameplan in the Swamp, and earned my respect.

I played this game at -9, but I remain skeptical. Florida -3 and Georgia +1.5 and Michigan -7.5 burned my resolve for wagering on the big'uns.
