They declined holding allowing Philadelphia do kick a 44 yard field goal.

54 yard is just as easy indoors, vikings defense is shakey they want off the field when they can.

The play happened with 2:30 left... The refs assumed it would be accepted and started to walk off 10 yds to make it 2 and 20.. But Phil lost 4 yds on the play, so the 6 yds was not worth the extra down to bleed clock. HOWEVER, the clock was never restarted after the play was declined. Minn was out of T.O.s at this point. I was yelling at the TV to restart clock with the declined penalty. It would have run down to the 2 min warning before Phil ran the 3rd down play. Phil ran the 3rd down play and left the clock run down to the 2 min warning before kicking the FG.. AM I completely wrong on this. If the holding call was declined the clock should have been started before 3rd down, Correct??

He's talking about the first FG of the game, not the last.

Yeah, I raised some eyebrows on this too.

I don't recall though, what is it going to be, 3rd and what? If it was 3rd and 11 then I can understand. But if it was 3rd and 20 then it's really curious. You don't typically expect a team to get the 10 yards back. That said, 54 yards was certainly within Akers' range also.

Certainly a tricky decision. My inclination would be to accept the penalty.

I heard this while I was listening to the game on the radio, sometimes I really feel like I am going to be a better coach than some of these clowns.

You definitely accept the penalty. It was going to be a 54 yd attempt IF they dont get any more yards. The play would have been 3rd and 18 or 19.

If your not confident that your team isn't disciplined enough to hold them on that play...then you shouldn't be in the playoffs.

Shit, if eagles were in the situation, they would have accepted the penalty...then blitz, most likely causing a rush pass, sack or holding...and Boom you save yourself 3 points.

Im glad I didn't put my money on a coach who has no balls.
