They were saying how he had to miss it so clock time would be runoff...
He really screwed the pooch on that one...

Ben Wallace wide open for that rebound really hurt you guys..

He wasnt smart enough or nobody was beyond the 3 point arc I guess

its not just missed throws...did you see what he did on the second attempt? i gotta tell ya, i am the LAST person in this forum that would say a game is fixed but, i can't think of any other reason to do what he did unless he had detroit plus 1.5

Blue, missing the second FT was the right thing to do but he was supposed to hit the rim of course. If it hits the rim the clock runs when Detroit touches the rebound and I believe they had no TO's so with 1.3 seconds left they would have had to basically chuck up a 70 footer.

Rather than letting them get a set throw in....they would have had to get the rebound (and time would have started) and then set and then throw and then get a shot

They were trying to get a crap shot, crap rebound, and let time expire.

Sprewell tried to do the right thing, he just didn't execute and hit the rim. He got too fancy.

As for Ben Wallace, he should've kicked it out for a 3-pointer.

If Detroit had a timeout, taking the easy basket would've been a good play. Take the easy bucket, foul immediately, call timeout after the FTs, get the ball @ half-court.

Hard to criticize Wallace for the split-second decision tap-in. I don't think he had the wherewithal and time to grab it and find an open shooter to get it to. As it is, it damn near worked as it played out.

Right, I'm not criticizing him. Kicking it out for the 3-pointer would've been the "optimal" play, but taking the easy tip-in wasn't bad.

It wasn't like Wallace knew how little time was left on the clock. Also, as you said, I don't know if he would've been able to find an open shooter.

Plus, Wallace is on my fantasy team, so I'll take the rebound and 2 points.
