Like he really cares to know. I wouldn't be surprised he goes back into the archives & pulls out ideas for a new ridiculous thread.

I see that hard to believe to be honest with you. Cascade is a top end book IMO and They probably woudnt sell for that much. I could be way offline to but that just seems like to much money.

They sold the shop for 30 mill. Him and his partner retired. Doens't sound like a bad deal to me.

One of the large english books wanted to get into the US market. So they just bought betmaker.

They sold in summer 2000 for around $20m. But then 1 year later the same team got the url back, without the customer base, and started again. Now they are trying to build betmaker back to where it was before the UK outfit purchased the original customer base.

Posters,

It always makes me proud when people mention the betmaker of old. I worked for them back in the day, in fact I probably spoke with most of you. It is true that the old ownership sold the company in 2000. However, we did retain rights to the name of betmaker.com and, along with many of the same principles, we re-opened a couple of years ago.

TubbyJ is correct in saying we are trying to build ourselves back to where we were. I am sorry Stone Cold feels that we have not quite reached that level. I would agree. However, we are trying, we are improving, and our clients are noticing.

We have brought back quite a few of the old Betmaker.com team and we continue to offer fast payouts, good bonuses, great CS, a dimeline in bases, and fair numbers. I am always available to help our clients and to talk about the direction we are going (granted, calling me as the games are going off is not the most appropriate time).

In addition, we are currently in the final testing stages of a new software that we hope to be implementing in the upcoming weeks. We are confident that this software will be a vast improvement and, combined with the customer friendly interface, it will enhance our services to our clients.

Those that remember, will remember that we do not cater to the professional player. We are geared more towards the recreational players. We will happily take on all clients, but we also do not encourage bonus "whoring/hunting". I thought I would just make sure we start off with everything in the open.

If anybody who played with us "back in the day" wants to come try us out again, I will happily offer you a FREE "Welcome Back Bonus" of $50. This offer will apply to anybody who had an account with us before the sale of the company and has not opened an account since our return. Simply give us a call at 800-644-6405 and tell the clerk you want to collect on the WELCOME BACK TO BETMAKER BONUS. After verifying your information and opening a new account for you, we will gladly give you $50 to get you started and on your way. Have fun, enjoy, and feel free to let me know about your experience with us. Thank you for your time.

If the old ways include limiting players to 50 bucks per wager then why would anyone bother?

Keith,

I noticed your post a few days back. I apologize for not getting back to you. As mentioned, we do cater to the recreational player. We tend to cut back internet limits on: clients who bet obviously bad lines due to clerk error, clients who bet stale/moving numbers as they move, and clients who continuously bet games where there is a large move after their play. I am sure there are other examples, but those are the major ones. If you do not fall into any of those categories, call me and I will happily look into it. I am sure you noticed that other clients have our standard $500-$1000 limits in place. There has to be more to the story. Gimme a call and let's get to the bottom of it.

Hi BM,

I remember you before you moved to Curacao. I'm glad to hear the old team is back. I thought there were some tax charges for the original owners last year in Wesconsin. I like those dime lines. I will give you a try again.

Jeff I do not bet bad lines.I do look for the best number if I have time.I rarely bet more than 200 a game and I have always considered myself fairly square.I have been betting many years so I imagine I have learned a few things to improve my handicapping but believe me I am a loser overall.Anyway, I suppose I should consider you limiting me (definitely a first) as a compliment and move on.Thanks for your response and good luck to your book.
