let me start off by saying over the past few years my love for soccer has grown greatly and they have some amazing athletic ability, but they flop so god damn much that at times it makes games hard to watch. I wish refs would start giving out yellow cards to people who are obviously flopping/faking an injury.

Its a cultural thing. In North America being a "man" and not faking injuries/contact is the respected way. In other countries they view faking/exaggerating contact and injuries as a way to help your team win the game. They think teams who don't dive are idiots.

It can be annoying indeed, some countries tend to have more players acting like that than others. I see your point, but on the other hand my love for sports like basketball and hockey has increased a lot as well, but I still get annoyed by the continous fighting in hockey and the many personal faults, specially in the final minutes in basketball.

I agree it can be annoying, specially when you are supporting a team, your team is losing and the opponent tries to steal time with faking injuries. Oh well, it's all part of the game, just like my examples in hockey and basketball.

thats why prefer EPL, you get booed for diving, scoring with hands, unfair play, even if you were injured they appreciate you leaving the pitch without a stretcher.. Seri A is just a joke sometimes i do enjoy some games but alot of times the whistle wont stop..

I was thinking exactly the same yesterday with HONDURAS PLAYERS, they have such a loser mentality, thats why they lost and thats why they arent going to the World Cup!

This is the way I exactly feel about Mexcan soccer.. i.e. america v morelia. Morelia up by one goal in the 80 th minute or so, morelia player running hard into the box and takes a dive .. he got a Yellow card for it.. ok.. no problem.. then about 5 minutes later America is on the attack, nice move into the box, makes a cut and DIVES !! gets up crying foul and the ref didnt buy it.. but wait, just 1 minute later on the other wing america headed in again, nice cutback, defender over runs it and the america player had open cross but he decided to fall down !!! what the ????????? of course he gets up crying foul. down by one.. need to start shooting and seeing a yellow given already for diving, they do it. amazing. Yeah, sorry .. but thats why mexico is still not up at the level where they can be .

true its not only that nation, but nevertheless, with so many talented players... they need to think football first and acting second.

sorry if I offended anyone, it is not my intention, just frustrating to see all of this and worse, to wager on mexican liga games.

Damn Kidman.. that avatar is smokin!!!! Wouldn't mid :hump: that.

Back to the subject, I hate it with a passion when guys dive in soccer, it's the one thing I hate about it, and I really hate it when a player dives and gets awarded a PK for it. I see this happen all the time, but in Europe (Italy especially) they encourage it if it helps your team. I've seen Italian sports shows rip into a team if they don't dive. That's just the way it is over there.

Germans and Portuguese have even a better reputation at diving in Europe, but it happens everywhere though.
