For me...it's Michigan St. They are very underrated from a talent standpoint. They return I believe 15 starters, and their new QB is the first So. in school history to be named as a captain...there schedule also shapes up nicely with no Ohio St and Penn St coming to East Lansing...

I think they will quietly make some noise this season...

TCU
Early road games at Virginia and Clemson but if they get past those teams they only have BYU and UTAH and they get UTAH at home

No Carolina
They have 17 starters back from a team that had a lot of injuries. They faded late however early on beat Rutgers, GaTech, Miami, Notre Dame, and BC. They lost down the stretch to NCST, MD and UVA and the Va game was off the win over ND. I think Butch will teach them how to deal with the emotions of winning and prevent the let downs,

N'Western
They don't get Penn St (good) but no one in the conference has been able to defense them and they get 9 defenders back so I think their defense should be much improved. The QB has played quite a bit in the past and I believe he had a 250 yd rushing day last year as a replacement (Kafka is his name)

I agree about Michigan St. I think Colorado out of the Big 12 North will be a little underrated too. They were one of the most injured teams in the country last year.

Is there a most over rated team thread? i would like to throw baylor on that list...

However, id have to agree with GS, colorado has the potential to come out on top of the Big12 North.

Thought Illinois would be a good pick, then I saw them in the LVSC rankings. Looks like the secret is out!

They play PSU at home this year. OSU and Michigan rotate off the schedule.

Bet Texas A&M early. Based on their final record from last year you should get some good lines. They will be most improved in the Big 12 this year.

Washington State

They will be asleep for a long time.

On a serious note, UTEP, I think they win the USA with 15 returning starters and few are paying attention to them.

ole miss

Everyone seems to believe that Ole Miss is going to be huge this year. Is everyone thinking that they are going to blow pass bama auburn and lsu? Im still undecided about ole miss.

You are a brave man. Im a huge A&M fan, but with Sherman saying for the most part he is taking out his record setting freshman receiver to be a backup QB, this year worries me. Hell it worries me against New Mexico. However, last year they were riddled with injuries on both sides of the line. I guess we will see how the freshman RB and WR's do. A&M is in the same place they were 5 years ago, coming off a 4-8 season... this time with a different coach and a stronger Big12 South.

New Qb and no Ringer means no to Mich st.

Their new QB is going to be btter then their last QB...that's no secret....plus Ringer was overrated...his average yards per carry wasn't that high...he just got a lot of carries...to inflate his overall yardage...

I wouldnt say really a sleeper team since they are ranked in the Top 15, but if LSU can get some good play from Jordan Jefferson this season (similar to what he did in the Bowl game last season), they are my outside pick for a National Championship.

Don't forget about NC St

O'Brien is a great coach and Wilson (if he stays healthy is probably best ACC QB) I would be even higher on NcSt if D stud Irving had not been injured.

I think fballplaya and others are right about MSU. Their schedule sets up very well.

Tulsa - I think they will finish in the Top 25 and if they beat Boise St maybe Top 20.

Illinoise and UTEP.

Illinois has tough back to back games early against Ohio St and Penn St , but the back half of their schedule should be a breeze. They could win their last 7 in a row and Juice Williams may finaly live up to the hype , this team should go 9-3 and if they can pull off an upset they could challenge for the big-10 title.

UTEP has the luxury of not having C-USA foes Sou. Miss or ECU on the schedule and other than Kansas and Texas the Miners should be able to win their other 10 games ... 10-2 is quite possible for this team.

Sleeper team - Notre Dame
Bust alert - Ole Miss

I agree with these picks....but the funny thing is you can almost reverse them and have a chance at that orediction being accurate as well...:103631605
