It took this Fereov 5 years for anybody to know who he is

You obviously just don't like the guy, otherwise you wouldn't keep mispelling his name.

Are you racist? Federov wouldn't even be recognized by 99 percent of humans.

The first person to bring up race is usually the one with predjudices.

Both are the greatest in their sports. We can't really compare the sports so we can't compare which is better. That doesn't mean one can't dominate his sport more than the other. Doesn't matter whether or not Tiger is better at golf that Roger is at tennis, or whether golf is harder than tennis, fact is almost every time Roger steps out on court he is expected to win. You can't dominate a sport more heavily than that.

Every tennis surface has the same dimensions....every golf course is different and is rated accordingly....much harder for golf and concentrating level for Tiger has to be more intense.....But AGAIN, Roger is the king in his sport and nothing can be taken away from him......it is funny that nobody has bought up other names from the past, so what these 2 guys have accomplished speaks volumes...

Nevers heard of this Fedro guy till recenly. Almost got beat last night...set point.

You must have been living under a rock then. He's been #1 since beginning of '04, and I think finished #2 in '03. He's dominated the sport day in day out for years.

Almost got beaten? What match were you watching? Grand Slam tennis is best of 5 sets. The fact that he didn't drop a set, and how few sets he drops in general is amazing. This guy is as consistent as it gets.

If golf were sets woods not lose set...not much..how bout yu

Tiger has highs and lows. It might be harder to keep form in golf, I don't know, but that isn't what we are comparing.

Yes but the surfaces are very different. The fact the federer still dominates despite the way different surfaces play is amazing.

You are correct. This is a fact. Fedoro might be impressive, but Tigro Woods continually amazes and makes you scratch head and laugh. I've seen lots of tennis players hit balls between their legs, but Tigers Wood had NEVER missed a crunch time shot...for like 13 years...sicnce Amateurs.

Fedoro is very good. I remember when Navfarallova and Chris Everest were best..that's womens mind you. Men best is Boorn Bjorg, followed by Jim Courier. Who care about teniss.

Tigro showed them today. He is family man too. You see him hig his mom?

Donald Bradman. Anyone in that was part of the commonwealth should know that name and just how dominant he was. Ricky Ponting would be as close as anyone would get.

So much for that joke. By the way...is there anything harder in cricket than hitting a baseball? Or is all of cricket easier than baseball?

Tiger Woods no doubt....Tiger has dominated the sport since he was a child by winning 3 U.S. Amateurs and took it on to the PGA. Fedarer is a great player but he does not play a field of 100 or more like golfers and end up winning..he plays 5 - 7 matches and wins. All it takes in Golf is 1 hot golfer that week to shoot a good score and it seems that's not enough to stop Tiger

See...I told you so. This guy is correct. Federov is pretty good, but Tiger was groomed for this. He's the best.

They're obviously similar but it is also kind of apples to oranges. The only thing you can really compare is fielding. Fielding is better in baseball although that gap will keep closing (cricket used to focus on batting and bowling, kind of like if it was just defence/offence in NFL with special teams being an afterthought).

Using a cricket bat is easier than a baseball bat since it has a flat surface, but a batter is meant to survive in cricket, where as a batter in baseball is meant to just hit the ball into play once.

Bowling, there is more variation in bowling in cricket, and I'd argue that the deliveries are harder to judge. You do have more of an idea where the ball will go though since the bowler will often use a similar line for his deliveries, with variations in speed and pitch (how early and high it bounces).

This isn't to say that batting in cricket is easier than baseball and that bowling is harder than pitching in baseball, just that the style of play is different.

You say a batter is meant to survive in cricket? I like this. There was a big argument last night. Ted Williams said that hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports. I say Bullshit. What's harder...hitting a ball in cricket or baseball?

Really? Tiger wins on EVERY TOURNAMENT he enters?

In 2006 Roger has a 90-5 record.

Americans will vote for Tiger no doubt. But real sports fan would know just how good Federer is.

The thing about Federer is that there are only 2 or 3 guys in the world who have a shot at beating him ever (save clay surfaces), while the PGA tour is not exactly filled with monsters there are a lot more guys capable of putting together a great tournament and win with Tiger in the field. Personally I think tennis is a more atheletic sport just because it involves running, lightning quick reactions, and incredible stamina. Golf on the other hand is more of a mental challange and if you have ever teed it up know that hitting that little white ball where you want is a lot tougher than it looks. Staring at a 6 foot snake or a downhill putt on 18 to win a major tournament is quite a nerve wracker (I hear).

In the end I call it a toss up given both players form in their particular sports right now as to who is king.

Prop which player will win The Grand Slam in his sport this year - Roger or Tiger?

IMHO Federer is a huge favorite over Tiger to wins his sports Grand Slam (I know he has one in the books but even before that), which in itself should tell you which sport is harder to dominate.

GOLF IS NOT A SPORT !
Golf is a skill, a hobby.
There is no defense in golf.

Tiger is the king of hobbyists.
Roger is the king of sports.

Hitting one ball would be harder in baseball. The catch is in baseball you only have to hit the ball once, in cricket you may be facing a couple of hundred balls.

The only way to compare them would be if you forced the batsmen to have to swing and score off every ball.
