I am a SEC homer but the big 12 is better this year. The defense in the big 12 is lousy but there are more tough outs in the big 12 this year than the SEC.
Three of the usual strongest teams Tenn,AU,and LSU are way down from their usual standards. In Fact AU and Tenn are Horrible. It was a weird you for QB turnover in the sec are there just are not but 3-4 good ones.
The sec has been the best and may be the best next year but absolutely NO way are they better this year. You can not even make a case at this point.

Agreed. There is only one elite team, Florida, in the SEC. The Big 12 has five.

Bama is better than FLorida IMO

Both conferences have 5 top 25 teams, guess we will find out in Bowl season. Looks like Big 12 has the edge.

If only Florida can be considered elite from the SEC,who in the world is the fifth "elite" team from the Big 12?

Texas, Texas Tech, Mizzou, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

Mizzou isnt elite.

I am definitely a SEC guy but the Big 12 is better this year. The SEC lacks for quarterbacks and that is the biggest reason the conference is down. It also doesn't help that normally strong programs like Auburn and Tennessee are sucking hard this year.

My only question about the Big12 is around the quality of the defenses (mainly they don't have any), but man the offenses are something to behold.

They'd be favored over Bama on a neutral field. Trust me.

I don't agree with that at all. Missouri has zero defense and playing against any team with defense, they will struggle because they will have a hard time outscoring the other team. As crazy as it may sound I think they would stuggle against a team like South Carolina because it's a bad match up for the Tigers.

I don't know who has the best conference, but the best Division in football is the Big 12 South.

agree. have two decent teams in the north, and four elite teams in the south. everyone else is marginal at best

Even Texas A&M and Baylor are competitive this year.

Big 12 this year, SEC just about every other year.

Florida is still the best team from either conference.

There is no doubt that the Big 12 is better this year. As mentioned, Auburn & Tennessee being "horrible" this year doesn't help the SEC's standing. These things go in cycles, and the Big 12 is looking good this cycle.....

(Here I go again!)....
