At 50, Im taking the over. Last time USC was favored by 17 on the road they scored 49 points themselves.
In the past 4 years when USC is a visitor the total averages 57 and total averages 54 for Va Tech at home.
When USC is a road favorite the total has gone over 50 points 11 out of 12 times.

A few close to Gobbler preseason practice likes some of the newcomers on dee-line & added depth, figure that VT just got tired as a lot of defenses with no depth do in second halves of seasons.
If total doesnt dip below 7 touchdowns (49), take the under. With SC experiencing some eternal flack (best RBS Dennis and NOW perhaps White won't play), Leinart has some quirks in throwing arm and may not be 100%, and with a rather inexperienced offensive line going, VT (game almost in their backyard) worth a look at +17/+18
