Trying to get some discussion going on something other than Donald Trump.

My top four in no particular order:

Kansas
UNC
UCLA
Nova

Chalky list there, eh? :)

Of course any of those teams have an real shot. I'd add in Wisconsin and Oregon as slightly darker horses. Really like both those teams. Oregon has the upside to beat anyone on any day for sure.

Also like Louisville to make a deeper run, but don't think they have the offense to win it all.

I like unc, nova, ucla also. Lots of chalk there but they look best to me with eye test......right now at least.

Denver looks tough to beat

Western is capable of making a run

Depends on the bracket

I like Nova & UCLA also. I feel comfortable laying money on both of them.

top 4

NC
Oregon
Gonzaga
UCLA

I want to believe in the Zags....they look better defensively than they ever have.

Matchups are always huge in NCAA tournament. Seedings, regions....lots of factors I think. But last few years I think the best teams have gotten to the final four.

Anyone know where the term "betting chalk" came from?

I'm curious...

I've heard before, but can't remember exactly. I thought it had something to with in older times they kept all the odds or action on chalk boards.

This is what I was told and have no idea if it's true or not. Back in old days at the track.....the books would change the odds on a horse by using a chalk board. That's how they would update the odds and track people would call the constant changing odds towards the favorite as chalk. Again, I was told this by someone else. So i have no idea if it's actually true.

Denver looks tough to beat

Especially so if they can convince NCAA to Switch Up to Ice Hockey, from Basketball, just for their games.

They are "Pioneers", like: Forging thru The Wilderness, making New Frontiers, right?

The winner always has good guard play and at least one NBA player on the roster.

No clue, it's wide open this year. Think the tourney gets wild. Given the right bracket I like these teams to make some noise Purdue, Oregon, Florida, West Virginia.
