I had #7 and took Marshawn Lynch. I expect him to have a huge year on an improved Bills team. Liked him more than the likes of Gore, Portis, Moss etc.

I had #7 in one draft and ended up with Marion Barber, and Tom Brady on the way back. Larry Fitz in round 3 and Thomas Jones in round 4. 10-team league.

I like the way my team ended up...

If Gore is available I'd take him in a second. He's a top 5 back IMO. If he's gone than maybe Addai will be there or Portis. I'd take two very solid RB's then look to get Peyton Manning in the 3rd Round. He's will be the best fantasy QB this year over Tom Brady.

Addai, LT, AP, Westbrook, SJax should all be gone. If Portis or Gore is there, I'd take em. Brady is a good choice in a league where all TDs count the same.

I'm not that big on Addai for some reason. Manning yes, Addai no.

Taking Manning at #6 would be a big mistake even though I think he could easily be the top fantasy QB. In a league where people know what they are doing, there is no way that Addai should slide as low as #7. He's a top 4 pick, maybe top 5 if someone prefers SJax.

Even in a scoring only league? Yards don't mean squat to me. TD's only. You really can't say what one person should do in a draft until the five people in front of you make their stupid ass selections. Some weird shit always happens and then you adjust.

I think my list is good. I hope to get two of them because I pick #5 in the second round.

Quarterbacks are usually overrated in fantasy leagues and they just are not as consistent as running backs are. If Addai, Westbrook, SJax, or Portis are available at that #6 pick, I'd take them over a QB personally. It's just too hard to tell when a guy like Brady will have a great season or a guy like Manning will fall off a bit like what happened last year. Anyone see Big Ben passing for a million touchdowns despite not throwing the ball that much on a run-first team? I just think running backs are more consistent and are a safer pick than a quarterback. I'd much rather have two excellent running backs and take a Rivers/Cutler/ type in the later rounds since they both are in good spots to throw a lot more than previous years.

I'm going to try and follow your advice on this one. Unless I get Manning or Brady I'll stock up on RB's and WR's with my first picks. The drop off after Manning and Brady isn't too severe. Most of the other good QB's will get you some points as well.

God I can't wait!

jake t, guy like manning can consistently throw up 2-3 td's 250-300 yards a week. 1 pt for 50 passing yards in my league. i think manning can consistently put up 22-30 points a week.

name me rb's who you think can put up 22-30 points a week using this scoring system: 1 pt 10 rush yards, 1 pt 10 recieve yards, 6 pts td.

QBs do put up more fantasy points than RBs but you are not playing QBs directly against RBs.

The difference between a guy like Manning and Cutler is smaller than the difference between a guy like Adrian Peterson and Willie Parker IMO. The difference is that you can get a Cutler in the later rounds but most RBs are off the board earlier.

It's all relative I guess and there is nothing that wrong with going QB first... you just will be weaker at RB since the top-end is much higher at that position compared to the later rounds and the difference is much less at QB IMO.

yea but i want first round point production, not second level with a lower tier rb. im thinking of just loading up with qb and recievers right away, then taking some stabs at like a earnest graham, fred taylor, brandon jacobs, lendale white, selvin young type. if i can get a manning/brady and moss/wayne in the first 2 i think that'll be a good start.

RBs are also easily the most consistent from week to week. If you go QB and WR with your pick, expect the top 15 RBs to be off the board when you go again. Not saying it can't work but you'll have issues at RB and getting those points each week and your point totals will likely be up and down. I can't see Jacobs on the board at your pick while Taylor and White are splitting carries. Selvin Young is easily falling the farthest of anyone in the league and makes a nice choice if he keeps falling. I just don't like going that route I guess. I'd rather take chances on QB and WR and get those RB points on the regular to get me a good base that I don't have to worry about.

Why anyone would take a qb in the first round is beyond me.
