I'm thinking about taking an internship this summer, about an hour away from from Denver.

Seem's like a great place to live for a while.

Any opinions on the Denver area or Colorado in general?

I went to the Denver area for work several years ago. It was one of the prettiest places I have ever been to. Anywhere I looked was postcard worthy.

Go, you will love it. Boulder, Ft Collins, Denver, all nice areas. I have many friends out there and they love it, and visits are always kick-ass...actually considering moving to the Boulder area myself.

Boulder if you're a liberal. Not the place for a conservative. El Paso County is the place for conservatives in this state.

I live in Nebraska and love it here (I know how is that possible). I've been to almost all the states and never been to a place where I said "man I could live here."

Except for Colorado, one of the few places if I got offerred the right job and pay that I would have no problem moving my family there

how is Cripple Creek? Taking a trip there in June/July

Very interesting. A very small town with nothing but casinos. Think only one has poker if I'm not mistaken. Nice drive through the mountains to get there. The town needs more in it to draw more people. Let me know, I'll meet you there.

Other than a brief stint in Vegas, been in CO all my life. Went to CU Boulder, now live south of Denver and work in Golden. You didn't mention where your internship is, but a half-hour from Denver really could be anywhere. I'm guessing you're pretty young. If that's the case, and you're a half-hour from Denver, I'd do what you can to live close to the city. I've been removed from the bar scene for quite some time, but know it's still going strong. Ace mentioned Shotguns - I lived in Cherry Creek/County Club area for a long time and love Shotguns. Stay away from the Springs (unless you're military/conservative, as Enfugo stated).

Love Colorado. Only place I'd ever move to is Monterey Bay area in CA.

I have spent time in the Monterey Bay area, north in Santa Cruz and you are right...only comparable place, just different.
