Pistons have the number 2 selection in the upcoming NBA draft. With overrated James going #1 , the Pistons are basically looking at Carmelo Anthony and that serbian Kid, Darko Milicic (pardon the mispelling if there is any).

Many probably dont care but as a Piston fan, I really cant make up my mind as to whom Id rather see them pick.

If you had the chance whom would you pick and why?

Doesnt even really matter Slim, none of us really know which of the 2 will end up being the better NBA player.......Drafts, in any sport, are merely luck in how the player turns out.

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

I think it's a "need" based question ...

Pistons need a Center more than a Forward, so they'll (as they've already said) take Darko ...

No telling who's better here ... I personally like Melo', but it's all chance.

After watching the Sportscenter report on Darko several weeks ago I must say I kinda want to see them take him but at the same time, it makes me think, he's not all that muscular and if he's to play center in the NBA he'd have to put on some weight and strength. I know he's been in the pro leagues in europe for several years now but it still doesnt make up for the more physical NBA style.

At the same time, big white guys at center haven't really fared well in the NBA lately so it makes me think....

Slim, do you consider Ben Wallace more of a power forward than center?? Pretty impressive numbers put up at the center position bey Big Ben. If only the Magic would of kept him to help T~Mac!.........

Ben Wallace is several things, most importantly he is a freak of nature, that guy just flat out rules. He's about 60% responsible for taking the Pistons to the playoffs and to the eastern finals. Regarding the position, I see him more as a power forward but on defense, he can fill in either spot.

I know its a bit off topic but don't you guys think James is a bit if not alot overrated and that whoever ends up taking him (Cavs) is gonna be sorry they did in the end. I guess it is mor of a hunch than anything but I just dont buy the whole Lebron thing....I know Nike does

This is who I would pick:

Carlisle over Brown. How can you still be a Pistons fan after that move?

truth, that does suck....Im not sure where they're coming from making that move, perhaps something's cooking...dunno but I dont see why fire a coach that just took you to your conference final.....

Ok I was really starting to gain a lot of respect for Joe Dumars and the Pistons organization...until now. Dumars started it off right by going back to the old school uni's instead of that awful logo with the horse and the tailpipe..and those color's?? oh my gersh.

If it aint broke dont fix it.... Firing a coach who took you where no-one inagined you could go is gonna create a little turbulance within the organization especially amongst the players. And as far as this drafting out of need more than talent...complete bullshit! Remember when the Trailblazers needed a big man so they went with Sam Bowie?? Who did they pass up again?? In no way am i saying that this Darko kid is gonna be a bust but YOU CANNOT PASS UP A TALENT LIKE CARMELO ANTHONY!!! This kid is special..very special. Funny because it looks like he will probably go third if the Pistons make that mistake...What spot was Jordan selected? oh thats right third.

One more thing about the Pistons...They do not even need a big man!!!!! They need a pure scorer to go with thier awesome defense. Damn man they got Ben Wallace and that other foriegn big guy who was a rookie last year who seems to be ok. RIP Hamilton is descent but a little too inconsistent... To me a player like Carmelo Anthony is the final piece to that teams puzzle. If the Pistons Hire Larry Brown and draft Darko then I am definitely going under on thier next year season win total! UNDER UNDER UNDER!!!!!! You heard it hear first.

probably after too many threads like this. James overrated, Darko over Melo....

But I do remember thinking back then Darko was going to be worth it also lol he had all the tools, moved good for a guy his size, just never improved or developed like he could have.
