Your main fallacy there was that under almost NO CIRCUMSTANCES could the line have EVER gone higher than -14. You bet $500 with only hopes for a tie!

Until tonight, the Pacers highest pointspread was -7.5. They covered that one by 1/2 point. Never a good idea to take a team when they are looking the highest point total to cover

Well for the whole game they were basically covering. Even at the very end they were only not covering by 1 point. I thought that I was going to lose by tying actually. I was watching the game on TV too.
