Bonus NBA Reports
NBA - Denver @ Sacramento - 4:00 PM PST - Denver is coming off a 96-87 road loss to Golden State, snapping a three game winning streak both SU and ATS. The defeat dropped the Nuggets to 29-22 SU and 27-24 ATS for the season, as well as 10-14 SU and 11-13 ATS on the road. Denver has fallen into a very interesting road trend this year, as they are just 1-13 ATS when they fail to win on the road SU. This suggests Denver is feast or famine and could potentially be a solid play on the money line when away (assuming they are an underdog). It would also suggest that Denver is a solid play against when on the road and matched up vs. the NBA's elite. That is, matched up vs. teams they stand little chance of beating outright. Note that Denver is just 2-6 ATS priced at +6 or higher this season and 0-3 ATS priced at +10 or higher. Sacramento is fresh off a 102-94 loss to the Spurs as a 5.5-point home favorite. The defeat dropped the Kings to 34-13 SU and 25-21-1 ATS overall, as well as 22-4 SU and 14-11-1 ATS at Arco. The loss also snapped Sacramento's 4-0 SU and ATS run. The Kings are now 10-6 ATS hosting teams with a winning record and a robust 7-2 ATS priced at -8 to -10.5 this season. Sacramento and Denver have met twice this year and the home team is a perfect 2-0 both SU and ATS. We see much of the same happening tonight. Our guess is the poor traveling Nuggets will get crushed in this contest. Lay it or do not play it. Early Prediction: Sacramento 111 - Denver 96
NBA - Philadelphia @ New Jersey - 4:30 PM PST - Philadelphia hosted Boston yesterday and those results are not final at press. Heading into that contest, the 76ers were 21-29 SU and 24-26 ATS. On the road, the Sixers are just 9-16 SU but 14-11 ATS. Breaking down this trend further, Philly is a strong 9-3 ATS when visiting teams with a winning record. New Jersey is fresh off another win in the post-Byron Scott Era. In their most recent contest, NJ netted the McGrady-less Magic 120-99 as a 14-point home favorite. The victory improved new headman Lawrence Frank to a perfect 6-0 both SU and ATS. New Jersey is now 7-0 both SU and ATS their last seven overall and stand at 28-20 SU and 24-23-1 ATS for the year. The victory over Orlando also advanced the Nets to 15-8 SU and 12-10-1 ATS at home and an incredible 9-2 ATS hosting teams with a losing record. Note also that Jason Kidd and Crew are 9-4-1 ATS in their division and 11-5 ATS priced at -6 or higher this season. We will need to review Philly's results before making a decision here, but our early lean is with the red hot Nets. Note that NJ clobbered the 76ers 94-76 as a 4-point road favorite less than two weeks ago. The only thing that will keep us from unloading on New Jersey here is that Philly is a tremendous 10-3 ATS priced at +5 or higher this season. Early Prediction: New Jersey 99 - Philadelphia 81
