Over the years, there will be upsets in the NCAA Tournaments. But the problem is trying to find out which ones will occur. Usually, the upsets players expect never materialize.
So, what teams will be "Joe Public" for the first rounds of the NCAA Tournament. (Thurs and Fri)???
thanks

The public will be all over North Carolina, Gonzaga, and Western Michigan. I think all 3 of the other sides are excellent plays.

that is all i've heard is how western is going to win this game.

just damn crazy.

who does western have to matchup against a 7 footer who plays inside and outside. plus a team that shoot, actually runs an offense. oh yea, they say western will run on them, kidding right. like no one runs in the sec.

williams? a 6'6 down low post player. just hit his first three of the season last week in the championship. toledo was in that game right up to end. and toledo looked damn impressive against marq. joke, that's what this line is. a joke.

western is going to get beat by 30.

i live in the heart of mac country, and all these people are completely insane.

you are telling me a team that beat big ten teams by 20, had a winning record in the top 2 conf in the country, fought for a sec championship, is going to lose to a mac team.
vandy should be a four seed at worst.

a joke, that is what this line is.

vandy will be the play of the century.

sorry went off in this thread but i can't take it anymore.

Good points. No doubt UNC looks too easy.
I mean talent wise this is a total mismatch.
AF lucky to be in the tournament and lost to TX-PAN AM in Feb.
Jay Bilas hates this team...LOL
Zags should cover???
Love W.Michigan

i'm being nice about western.

my system for the past month has been picking western on the road, and they have been getting killed agaisnt the spread. now they have been favored usually. but this is the mac we are talking about. i bet 9 out 10 times if you took an sec team getting points against a mac team, you win.

they say this is the best western team in years, well that is because the mac sucks this year. usually the mac has two or three teams in the dance. ask yourself how many they have this year, one.

example last year, i got suckered into thinking central mi was going to hang with duke, well they did for about the pregame, then they got destroyed. same shit.

this isn't toledo, central, ball st., this is vandy for god sake. and this isn't the old vandy teams, this team has talent, size, plays within its system, shoots the ball well. the only chance western has if is vandy comes out flat, and shoots like 30%. guess what, if they do they still win by 10.

tonight they had the vandy broadcast guy on the radio, listened to the whole interview. vandy is not coming into this game flat. and the blow out to florida, third game in three days, tired.

this team is pumped to be in the tourney, and well rested.

western just doesn't have the size. williams is a good player, so is reed. but williams is about 196 lbs soaking wet. vandy is huge down low, this game will not be close. trust me. this is my best play on the board.

now saying all that, don't go cash out any annuities or anything, but i wish i a few extra dimes laying around.

best of luck

First off if you talk to anyone that hasn't watched a college game all year long they will say their upset special is manhattan. Why I have no idea? This seems to be a public favorite. Why would everyone be on W. Mich? They are not a known powerhouse..hell I don't think they have made the tourney before. Everyone is talking up the SEC so much and how FLa is going to lose to Manhattan. Wasn't Fla just in the championship game and didn't they just blow out Vandy last weekend. What makes Vandy a sure thing over W. Mich but Manhattan a winner over Fla.

I am not sure why people are enamored with Western Michigan either.

Watch out for East Tenn St. against Cincy!! ETSU could win that game...and I'm also look'n at VCU against Wake. I don't know if they'll win outright, but those points look generous.

Ok so who are the real sleeper teams then? If we rule out Manhattan and W. Mich. The only ones left that I can see are Byu, ETSU, Lafayette, Ill Chicago or Pacific. Maybe Richmond? Unless an 8 or 9 seed wins first game and goes on to beat the number 1 seed and another.

i hate byu too.

big bad forthe should be able to take care of byu big man. at least keep him from going off.

i think warrick is the diff maker.

and byu isn't the best team from the outside. well they better start practicing them threes, cause with that match up zone of the cuse, yo better be able to shoot light outs out.

Just a follow-up to some of the points made here - each year, the talking heads on ESPN and CBS become enamored with one or two lower seeded mid-major teams and potential match-ups that may materialize. Usually, the mid major team in question gets drilled and the 2nd round or Sweet 16 match-up these fools are talking up never materializes. This year, the mid-major that many people feel will win outright is Manhattan. Mid-majors that seemingly are being ignored or dismissed are La-Lafayette, Princeton, VCU, Pacific
and UNI. I’m not forecasting outright wins for any of these teams, but overlook them at your own risk.

Potential future match-ups – a little more tricky here but I seen a lot of talk about how unfair it will be for Pitt to play “at” Wisconsin……pretty amazing that those teams had byes in the first round when the rest of the field plays on Thursday or Friday. Another great 2nd round match-up is going to be Michigan St vs. Gonzaga……now, Valpo had their day in the sun as giant killer a few years ago which leads me to think that the boys from Reno might be the play here. Other anticipated match-ups that might not even happen = Duke vs Arizona, Kansas vs. Kentucky (Sweet 16), Illinois vs Cincy and Washington vs. Kentucky.

Speaking as a former legal bookmaker in Vegas and the Caribbean, making money during March Madness is easy if you fade the public. Ask around at work and see who everybody likes in their tourney pool. Pay attention to line movements at places like BoDog that see LOTS of Joe Q. Public’s money. Check the service plays and see if any one team is a play by 75% or more of the services. By wagering against what the public sees as an easy win, your wallet will be full by the end of March!
