If I owned an NFL team and my GM mentioned "he's mobile" in the first 5 minutes of the conversation, I would have him tortured and put in one of the 8 political prison camps I would have set up along with his relatives.

1. Oregon quarterbacks are all the same.
2. He is a 1 read qb ( doesn't work in NFL)
3. What is his completion percentage to his #3 option?
4. Did he know his #3 option?
5. Is he willing to have his DNA tested?

I know he didn't know his #3 option because it was throw the ball away. Take a flier in round 4 if you don't have a real qb. BUT only if question 5 pans out.

Man I hope Tampa Bay doesn't.

I'm usually against trading down for more picks, but in this case I don't think you waste a #1 or #2 pick on Mariotta or Winston who are both bust-city.

Very few QB's drafted turn out as expected and odds are definitely against these two becoming successful.

I'm hoping some other team desperate enough for a QB makes an outrageous offer to trade up...

I would be interested in knowing what it is going to his 2nd and 3rd options. From watching him currently he isn't a 3 read qb.
Winston is the better prospect. Could step in and play today. Mariotta there is more projection and a curve for potential.

Mariota makes a lot better decisions with the ball then Winston...1st, 2nd, & 3rd option.. trying watching them play a little more closely.. as far as comparing them to other Oregon QB's ... He has better size, arm strength, can make any throw, and the decision making is off the charts.. this all behind a suspect O line for most of the year.... No one is a lock coming out of college, but to say you would be stupid to draft him is a stupid comment in itself..

Mariotta is an amazing athlete in the mold of CK. He's a wiry 6'4 215. How does his body withstand the punishment of the nfl? At Oregon he plays in a system that fits his best attributes and hides his weakness. For a guy who takes care of the ball so well, he fumbles way too much and has a quite a few should be interceptions. Makes unbelievable throws into tight coverage but is inconsistent with his accuracy.

I have seen this kid play 4 or 5 times over the years and was never impressed.
Think he will be a bust in the NFL.

at 6'4 he can easily add to his frame.. He did have a few fumbles, most of them when he had no time behind that suspect O line.. despite what I think the NFL personel like what they see

Depends on the system he plays in....

Philadelphia will take him no later than the 2nd round.

Anyone think Chip doesn't know this kids talents?

Seems like a decent prospect... I'd have a hard time feeling comfortable if my team had to use a first rounder on him, given the uncertainty of most QBs making the transition... That said, he's the best qb prospect I can think of since Luck.

Winston wont be a bust, but he wont be a pro bowler either. Winston will have a decent NFL career

I think Winston has much more potential than Mariotta. Jameis is amazing in the pocket and runs a pro style offense. Mariotta needs to find his way to Chip or he'll be looking like Manziel out there.

If you are taking him with a top 2 pick and he wont make a single pro bowl when basically 4-5 qb's a conference each year make it because Brady/ Manning skip it, he is a bust. Love the liberal spin though....I have 5,000 participant awards here. Everyone should get one.
