What about the Dolphins with David Woodley at Q.B. They weren't exactly world beaters. But I guess they gave the Redskins a good run, until Riggens T.D. run.

I was thinking the question was worst team to make the SB, not the actual SB performance....if that's the case i would change my selections....that Colts team was much better than the Super Bowl V Colts team that actually won the SB.

Exactly, not the performance in the game, as that would easily go to Denver vs SF or NE vs Chicago, or SD vs SF..

I still maintain San Diego in 94 and Atlanta in 99 are tied for the two worst teams to make it to the game..

I disagree , the 1979 Rams were a decent SB team, they give Pittsburgh trouble in that game, the Steelers were aging on defense by then, and couldn't really stopped Wendell Tyler...dare I say my Steelers were fortunate? no, I won't go that far, but that game was in doubt and the Steelers trailed going into the 4th....

Rams got to the bowl beating unlikely TB (9-0)
rams lose to a aging defense and to my knowledge the rams never got back to the super bowl can't remember if they ever got back to the nfc championship game or noot do not think so

That Rams team never did anything again...made the playoffs a few years later, but were never a real threat.

Denver team with Morton at qb.

WOW!! Hadn't even considered these guys, excellent pick! Have to strongly agree..Oakland was the team that year, Denver got in on a TD that was actually a fumble, Rob Lytle..

Has to be the Chargers, was ironic they had great teams with Dan Fouts that never got there. When they did get there they were trampled under foot. They looked like Keystone cops the entire game, gave up 6, count them 6 passing TD's to Steve Young. Game was over for all intensive purposes in the 2nd Q. This was one overrated team that got spanked into oblivion, I would take any super bowl participant over them. Even Eason's Pats. Very next season Chargers imploded.

Chargers, hands down. Needed two miracles to even get there.

Interesting take Brock, I agree...and with John Facenda , no one better

I have often wondered the same about old NFL broadcasts and why they don't show them in their entirety....pisses me off that they don't.

I believe it has something to do with NFL Films having rights.

I would think that the original broadcast of the game would belong to the network that televised it (CBS or NBC for the older games). I guess the NFL Network (or ESPN Classic) could buy the rights to those games if they wanted to. I would think ESPN could broadcast Super Bowls that were televised by ABC.........
