Ya it was strange, he was talking to someone about gambling and I overheard it so I inquired about it. It was a thursday around 8 o'clock and it was slow and Dieon Sanders and his Falcons were playing the Saints that night and I ended up betting 88 to win 80 on the Saints minus the points that night.
Before I knew it I was making bets every day even though I only cleared roughly 250$ a week. A sharp degenerate from the get go fo sho.
I was in the office every day just about discussing games or settle figures and mocking Jim Fiest for some laughs. It was then I learned about parlays, teasers and trap games. I remember the lobby being full of customers, and he'd tell me to go check the scores which I did quite often using a toll free number on an employee pay phone.

same here xpanda. i was dating a guy who worked at treasure islands SB and he taught me how to make my own lines and how to read the lines. he was great but it was a couple hardcore handicappers after him who really lit the fire for me seeing how easy football was.parity killed things a bit in the nfl but i still win. i have a notebook as thick as a phonebook with things ive picked up. when in vegas i seek pros in the know. scucci at the stardust,esposito at caesars and ken white at lvsc have a prominent place in my book. plus talking to the cappers ive met at the stardust handicapping show on friday nights during football season and the host john kelly,that guy knows some great stuff! he should,he gets to talk to these people as much as he wants. great thread!~RGxpanda said:
I started by reading the Sports pages when I was a kid and worked up from there. Kinda learned on my own. I have a unique way of handicapping that I would lay odds on that nobody else could duplicate. Not bragging or anything but it took me 4 years to nail it as far as my #1 formula. This might sound kind of far fetched, but if everybody bet the same way I do NFL and Coll Hoops,the lines would be different then what they are, because of the formula I use. Get me drunk at the RX Bash and I might slip and tell.
